OK But Could Use Updating

I use this on my alpha 850. I like its low weight and small size. But in pixel peeping it's not that sharp outside of the center even stopped down and has too much chromatic aberration (although that can largely be fixed with software).

Low Cost, Reliable, small & light

Image quality not up to high megapixel cameras

Sony FE 28mm F2

The Sony FE 28mm F2 isn't an optically perfect lens like some others available for the Alpha 7 family, but at its price point, we didn't expect it to go toe-to-toe with Zeiss-branded offerings.

Compact; Inexpensive; Wide aperture; Wide-angle field of view; Dust- and splash-resistant design; Add-on conversion lenses available

Limited close focus; Soft edges at wide apertures; Loads of distortion when shooting Raw; Omits optical stabilization

Sony FE 28mm F2 Review

Sony has been hard at work expanding the library of lenses for its full-frame mirrorless camera system. About a year and a half has passed since the introduction of the Alpha 7 , and more than a dozen lenses are available to cover its full-frame sensor, including autofocus lenses from Sony and manual focus choices from Zeiss. The FE 28mm F2 ($449.99) fills a sizable gap—it's the first prime lens with such a wide field of view, and it's also the most affordably priced lens in the lineup. There are two conversion lenses available for it as optional add-ons, and it's quite light to boot. But the low cost and light weight don't come without compromise. The lens does show a lot of distortion when shooting Raw, edges are muddy until it's stopped down to around f/4, and I really wish it focused a little bit closer. If you're a fan of the 28mm field of view it's a solid choice, but it doesn't have impeccable optics like our Editors' Choice, the Zeiss Sonnar T* FE 35mm F2.8 ZA ($798.00 at ...

The Sony FE 28mm F2 is a fast, affordable wide-angle lens with full-frame coverage, but it's got a few drawbacks.

Great value!

My go to travel lens! Does not disappoint. I purchased the fisheye adapter too. Great combo. Nice video lens too. Distortion easily fixed in post.

Sony SEL28F20 FE 28mm f/2 Lens - Brand New review

The Sony FE 28mm f/2 is a very competent and affordable wide-angle prime lens for the Sony full-frame compact system cameras. This compact optic delivers excellent sharpness in the centre of the frame almost throughout its aperture range, even performing well wide-open, although you'll need to stop...

Sony SEL28F20 FE 28mm f/2 Lens - Brand New review

This lens has a lot going for it. It's capable of delivering high levels of sharpness, it's compact, relatively lightweight and not too expensive. It's a shame the aperture has to be stopped down to improve performance towards the edges of the frame, and to reduce chromatic aberrations, but overall...

Sony FE 28mm f/2 Lens – SEL28F20

At an RRP of AU$699 this lens represents excellent value for money and promises to deliver superior performance on Sony's α7-series cameras, particularly those with lower resolution (which means most of them).

Sony SEL28F20 FE 28mm f/2 Lens - Brand New review

Photographer Chase Jarvis famously said, “the best camera is the one you have with you”. This quote is the first thing that comes to mind when I think of the Sony 28mm f/2. This lens is light, small, and highly capable, which means I can take it with me everywhere.

sony's wide angle 28 mm lens for good

With all respect to bigger brothers of SAL F28 /F/2.8 ,- this eye has undoubltly the best money/q rate in my opinion. lightweight, laconic, strong character inborn from SONY, - thats it-28/F/28.

Best Bang for the buck

This lens is sooooo light and small, only about 200 grams!! One of the best bangs for the buck on the Sony system, imo. And at F/2, youre able to capture pretty sharp and low noise pictures. Great for street and hiking photography. It packs tons of bang for the price. 28mm is pretty wide.
