I LOOOOVE this lens! I needed a wide-angle prime lens for quite some time now but put it off thinking I needed to dish out several thousand dollars for a decent one. Picked up this lens on a whim just to see what it was like and ended up falling in love. Super light, compact and durable.

The list above seems to indicate the Sony's FE 28 mm f/2 number of flaws is rather high. Does it mean our summary cannot be positive? Quite the contrary! To be honest I don't have any problems with these flaws because I like lenses of this type very much – small, shapely, sensibly priced instrument...

shapely, mostly metal casing,, very good image quality in the frame centre,, sensible image quality on the edge of the APS-C sensor,, lack of spherical aberration problems,, sensible control of astigmatism,, excellent performance against bright light,, silent, accurate autofocus which works with...

image quality near the maximum relative aperture could have been a bit better,, huge vignetting,, high distortion for RAW files,, too high level of longitudinal chromatic aberration,, distinct coma.

This lens is sooooo light and small, only about 200 grams!! One of the best bangs for the buck on the Sony system, imo. And at F/2, youre able to capture pretty sharp and low noise pictures. Great for street and hiking photography. It packs tons of bang for the price. 28mm is pretty wide.

For the money this is a great little lens. IQ is as good as your going to get for the price, primarily use this at night for long exposure and very happy with the results. It dose suffer from barrel distortion (well documented) but this is nothing to worry about as its fixed with lens profile...

My go to travel lens! Does not disappoint. I purchased the fisheye adapter too. Great combo. Nice video lens too. Distortion easily fixed in post.

While we can no longer complain about the lack of native FE lenses given that 15 have been produced in just two years, the Sony full-frame lineup is still missing a series of high quality/affordable glass.

If your looking for a cheap wife angle lens this is a must for your kit. Sharp images, great and wide enough for vlog, landscaping, street shoot.

The product is listed as new. The box was opened and there were fingerprints on the lens glass. The lens is working fine but I am not very happy to start to clean a brand new lens!
