I was looking for a easy to carry camera that fit into my Go Bag or pocket when I didn't want to carry my DSLR. After months of research, this camera became available. It meets or exceeds every requirement except shooting in RAW. I can live with that.

The Nikon S9900 is an update to the S9700 , a pocket ultra-zoom camera that we really liked when we tested it in 2014. It uses what appear to be the same 30x lens and 16-megapixel sensor, and once again includes both Wi-Fi and GPS.

I am writing a review of my new camera. It is the Nikon S9900 point and shoot. It is equipped with 16 mega pixels. And has 30x zoom capability. I got it for concerts, where I couldn't take my SLR digital with a big lens. It is perfect for this use. Small enough to fit in a shirt pocket.

Use for travel photos, keeps GPS locations of photos so you can see on maps on computer. nice wireless features, fantastic photos from such a small camera, zoom is great! I use it on travel when the Nikon D700 is just too big to carry around.

We usually have coolpix cameras but find their switches go, I spoke to Nikon direct and she said this model was a much stronger one for those that use it all the while and need a quick camera. So we will see. So far so good but the other camera lasted 9 months and the one before about a year.

I was looking for a replacement compact camera but needed to get one with a good optical zoom. The Nikon Coolpix S9900 has a 30x optical zoom which is perfect. It also has a multi-angle rear screen which can be tilted to avoid glare from sunlight and to photograph subjects which are at awkward...

Camera and accessories arrived the day after I ordered and everything was as advertised. Very pleased with my purchase and the prompt service. Would certainly recommend to others.

I'm giving 5 stars for "value for the money" I bought this Nikon Coolpix S9900 as a backup to my D-810. Naturally, no comparison to the D-810, but I'm happy:)
