The Sony Alpha A7 III is a feature packed and highly versatile body that sets a new benchmark for "entry-level" full-frame cameras. At $1,999, it's not exactly cheap, but for serious enthusiasts and even professional photographers, the A7 III offers a rich feature set at a reasonable price point.

Great camera
Great camera for the serious photographer. Image quality is excellent and camera is fairly compact compared to other full frame DSLR cameras. Only downside is lenses are very expensive.

BEAST is an understatement

Fantastic! And I am a tough judge. Made me consider abandoning my Fuji system with 11 lenses... The only thing is it's ridiculously configurable, so you need to spend time to create your own 'My menu', otherwise you can never find anything.

Wonderful
Great ergonomics if you're used to Sony. Amazing IBIS, e.g. 1/8 s handheld in a dark forest. Sadly, a Metabones adapter broke a contact pin in the camera so I had to return it.

Sony a7 III Review
Even if you can afford more, you'll find everything you need in the A7 III.
Pros:
- Exceptional image quality
- 10 fps continuous shooting
- 693-point AF system
- Very responsive performance
- Very good 4K video
Cons:
- Frustrating menu and control layout
- 2.36-million-dot EVF is behind the times
- Video is no longer best in class

- Excellent value for money
- Improved battery stamina
- Fast and responsive autofocus system
- Revised button layout for intuitive control
Cons:
- AF point illumination could be improved
- Convoluted menu system
- Thin plastic port covers aren't weather-sealed
- Handles poorly with large gloves in cold climates
