As a tilt-shift lens option, Samyang offers a very economic opportunity with optimal quality for all photographers to taste tilt-shift experience. Unless users go "pixel-peeping", the quality is nice and sufficient. The ideal aperture is f/8 for best sharpness.

Great alternative to $2K Nikon

I bought this lens for architectural photography and I'm thrilled with it. The ability to tilt and shift simultaneously is a tremendous advantage over the Nikon, to say nothing of the 67% savings in cost. Sharpness is excellent between f/8 and f/11, and distortion is minimal and easy to fix in post.

Astounding lens

An astounding lens,all manual but that's not such a big deal with a tilt shift lens. Produce great sharp, contrasty images. Highly recommended.

The Samyang T-S 24mm F3.5 ED AS UMC is an affordable tilt-shift lens that's available in several mounts. It's an excellent value when compared with others of its type. Even if it sold at its $1,299 MSRP, the Samyang T-S 24mm F3.5 ED AS UMC lens would be an excellent value when compared with first-party lenses like the Nikon PC-E Nikkor 24mm f/3.5 ED ($2,199.95) and the Canon TS-E 24mm f/3.5L II ($1,899). But the Samyang 24mm is regularly available for around $800, making it a compelling alternative for photographers in want of a lens that incorporates perspective correction. It's a tool that can be used for many types of photography, from precise architectural work to artistic applications of what many compact cameras mimic using a miniature effect filter. The lens needs to be stopped down a little to get the most out of it, but given its price point and an application that's best suited-for tripod use, that's a minor quibble. I had to pass on this one

I opted to purchase this lens for use on my D600 instead of purchasing the Nikon version because the Nikon 24mm tilt/shift lens carried on the same tradition as their other tilt/shift lenses of not having these two functions rotate independently of one another.
