Sorry if this is too much information, but Mrs Technopolis and I always like to sleep with a fan whirring. A steady stream of cooling air and a shoosh of neutral white noise just works for us.

Here come the warmer months and that reason to get the old trusty fan out. But before you do, you might want to consider a healthy update of the personal cooling device, as Dyson updates its original air multiplier, making the whole thing quieter than before.

Much quieter than previous generations; Very light; Remote now included; and it sits magnetised on the top of the fan; Timer built in (yay! Still safer for children than a conventional blade fan

No controls on the front; Still not particularly forceful; Still expensive

I have two of these fans. An older model that does not have the remote and this one with it. What a great feature this is! These fans work wonderfully to move the air without that 'in your face' constant stream that comes from ordinary fans.

Bought this as had enough of the extremely humid nights keeping me awake. My conventional fan was too noisy to keep on all night. This is much better than my fan on lowest setting, still makes an audible noise however, but got used to it in the end.

Extremely efficient; There are none

We bought this to keep our kitchen cool. We don't have a direct AC vent in the kitchen and rely on the one in the family room. When the oven is on it can get quite warm and using this keeps us from having to turn the AC down in the rest of the house.

While Dyson's crazy air multiplier design has been around since 2009, it still boggles the mind of most who has sit before one. Where there should be fan blades, there is nothing but a large hole! Does it run on mains power or on voodoo After two months, we're still not entirely sure.

Because of the high cost in comparison to other fans, I waited a long time before purchasing. I have 2 huskies who are very curious and I never put a fan on the floor for fear they would be injured. I had no qualms about putting this on the floor. It's quiet and it really moves the air.

Nice looking product.

Unobtrusive fan can have running when watching the TV because it is smooth running and quiet. Easy to carry around being light and not having the blades. Just now see how well it lasts in the future.
