I have two of these fans. An older model that does not have the remote and this one with it. What a great feature this is! These fans work wonderfully to move the air without that 'in your face' constant stream that comes from ordinary fans.

Here come the warmer months and that reason to get the old trusty fan out. But before you do, you might want to consider a healthy update of the personal cooling device, as Dyson updates its original air multiplier, making the whole thing quieter than before.
Much quieter than previous generations; Very light; Remote now included; and it sits magnetised on the top of the fan; Timer built in (yay! Still safer for children than a conventional blade fan
No controls on the front; Still not particularly forceful; Still expensive
This is my second fan...
Sorry if this is too much information, but Mrs Technopolis and I always like to sleep with a fan whirring. A steady stream of cooling air and a shoosh of neutral white noise just works for us.
Arguably the best desk fan on the market, Dyson's newest innovation is ambitious, powerful and very beautiful - but comes with a hefty price tag
The Dyson Cool AM06 is a direct replacement to Dyson's first foray into the desktop fan space – the at-the-time forward-thinking AM01 . The Dyson Cool AM06 adds a sleep timer, a more refined design, and Dyson reckons it's 75 per cent quieter and uses 40 per cent less power than the AM01 or the Dyson...
Now quieter and more efficient; Cool; high-end design; Sleep timer a welcome addition
Lack of physical controls a bit limiting; Dust fiend; Still expensive
Dyson's fan range is now in its second generation, building on the original Air Multiplier range with a redesigned internal motor which promises to use less power but provide significantly greater airflow than the outgoing model.
On the Gadgeteer scale of 1 to 10, a traditional electric fan probably wouldn't rate much higher than a 1. But the Dyson Cool Desk Fan (model AM06) earns a significantly higher score because of one obvious fact – it doesn't have any blades. At least none that you can see.
Remote control with timer feature; Oscillates; Quiet at lower power settings; No blades
Speak into a traditional desktop fan and it will augment your voice. I did this all the time when I was a kid. Unfortunately, nostalgia of this ilk can't be garnered from Dyson's new Desk Fan.
Excellent air flow without the noise; easy to setup; finally a desk top fan that rotates
Lose the remote and lose most of the controls; pricey
Dyson has a new line of its ‘Cool' bladeless fans out, and as you might expect from the UK-based appliance maker, they're basically the best-looking fans you can buy. I got to take the AM06 Desk Fan 10 out for a test spin, just to see if the brains and beauty combined in the sleek package amounted...
