With a quieter; more efficient design that sacrifices none of the original's unique appeal; the Dyson AM06 is about as luxurious as desk fans get

At $299, it's as expensive as desk fans get, too --- by quite a bit; Also, with basically no controls on the unit aside from the on/off button, you'd better hope you don't lose the remote

Dyson is known for two things: elegant technology and high prices. The company takes mundane objects like vacuum cleaners and fans and remakes them into stylish paragons of their respective categories, superlative in both form and function.

On the Gadgeteer scale of 1 to 10, a traditional electric fan probably wouldn't rate much higher than a 1. But the Dyson Cool Desk Fan (model AM06) earns a significantly higher score because of one obvious fact – it doesn't have any blades. At least none that you can see.

Speak into a traditional desktop fan and it will augment your voice. I did this all the time when I was a kid. Unfortunately, nostalgia of this ilk can't be garnered from Dyson's new Desk Fan.

Dyson has a new line of its ‘Cool' bladeless fans out, and as you might expect from the UK-based appliance maker, they're basically the best-looking fans you can buy. I got to take the AM06 Desk Fan 10 out for a test spin, just to see if the brains and beauty combined in the sleek package amounted...

I love my Dyson Cool Fan it's quiet and gives out an enormous amount of air to be so small... I would recommend and give it as a gift to someone :)
