Canon EF 35mm f/2 USM IS - Review / Test Report

Once more Canon delivered a a high performance lens with only a few weaknesses. The center performance is very good at max. aperture and excellent to downright superb at medium aperture settings. The borders are somewhat low in contrast at f/2 but very sharp when stopped down a bit.

Great lens but expensive

Excellent lens but little pricey for it's specification. There are other lens like sigma 35mm or sigma 18-35mm f1.4 with same price and better quality. I ay buy it again if price is down in $500 range.

Good picture quality in low evening light

Excellent lens for the price

Fantastic lens, only downside is the vignetting is very heavy (using it on a 5DM3), obviously this is an easy fix on Lightroom etc, but still, its annoying. Sharpness is great, but nothing mind blowing, distortion is minimal, bokeh is nice, but a little jittery, not quite the smoothness you get from...

Canon EF 35mm f/2 IS USM

The Canon EF 35mm f/2 IS USM ($599.99) is a lens that will appeal to owners of full-frame and APS-C SLRs alike. When paired with a camera like the EOS 6D , it covers a classic wide-angle field of view.

Captures crisp images; Optically stabilized; Nominal distortion; Compact

Dim corners at wide aperture; Hood is not included

Low light lense

I bought this lense for low light. Mainly on people's birthdays, for when the candles are getting blown out. cheaper than the L1.4, which I tested. This lense is very good quality and I would highly recommend it.

Canon EF 35mm f/2 IS USM Review

The Canon EF 35mm f/2 IS USM ($599.99) is a lens that will appeal to owners of full-frame and APS-C SLRs alike. When paired with a camera like the EOS 6D, it covers a classic wide-angle field of view. And when used with a consumer-friendly SLR like the Rebel T6s ($849.99 at Office Depot® & OfficeMax®) , it covers a standard-angle field of view and serves as a fine complement to the kit lens bundled with entry-level bodies, especially for low-light shooting. It's a solid performer, but falls just shy of earning an Editors' Choice recommendation. The Tamron SP 35mm f/1.8 Di VC USD ($599.00 at Amazon) is priced the same, focuses closer, and is just a bit stronger in its optical performance. DesignThe EF 35mm  is a fairly compact lens. It measures 2.5 by 3.1 inches (HD), weighs just 11.8 ounces, and supports 67mm front filters. The lens barrel is made from a tough composite plastic material with a textured finish, and the manual focus ring, which sits just behind the front element, i...

Canon photographers in need of a wide-angle prime lens should take a look at the EF 35mm f/2 IS USM—it's sharp, compact, and optically stabilized.

Canon EF 35mm f/2 IS USM Lens - Brand New review

With this lens, Canon have produced something that performs very well indeed, but then you would expect that for the asking price. It may be questionable whether or not having image stabilisation available at this focal length really is a killer feature, as it will really only be of use for...

Canon EF 35mm f/2 IS USM

A perfect match for the 5D Mark iii, in that it's a versatile, genuine walkaround focal length and exactly the right build quality, weight and size to feel comfortable mounted on the camera. My first full frame lens and I suspect it will be a very hard act to follow.

Quiet, unobtrusive, well-balanced on 5D mk iii, extremely sharp, reliable & quick autofocus, effective stabilisation

Serious vignetting; but easily removable in post processing
