There are a number of features users have loved in this unit, but what we find to be above all is the USM focus adjustment. It is not something commonly found in lenses these days, but in this unit, it works impressively to increase the quality of the photos taken with it.

Fantastic lens, only downside is the vignetting is very heavy (using it on a 5DM3), obviously this is an easy fix on Lightroom etc, but still, its annoying. Once more Canon delivered a a high performance lens with only a few weaknesses. The center performance is very good at max. aperture and excellent to downright superb at medium aperture settings. The borders are somewhat low in contrast at f/2 but very sharp when stopped down a bit.

The lense is responsive and has a wide aperture! Works really great in portrait mode. It was purchased as a gift for my boyfriend, who is a photographer.

Kinda noisy

I really love this lens, I have not fully been able to utilize it in many various situations yet but so far I can tell its a great lens and I think its one of my new favorites.

I bought this lense for low light. Mainly on people's birthdays, for when the candles are getting blown out. cheaper than the L1.4, which I tested. This lense is very good quality and I would highly recommend it.

Takes great pictures added to my lens inventory

This lens is superb. Very much an overlooked hidden gem in the canon range. The lens is pin sharp across the apertures and image stabilisation too.. what's not to love.. if you're in two minds how this can be so cheap just grab it. You won't be disappointed
