Pros:
- I love the variety of things it can do -- steam, braise, slow cook, rice, risotto, stews, noodles, one-pot meals
- For people living alone, it is fantastic
Cons:
- My first one blew up after about 18 months, my second one lasted only six months before it stopped cooking
- The mechanical reliability needs to be improved

Another great Breville product
Product very easy to use! I love putting on rice, quinoa, canahua on the rice setting - perfect every time! Great for making soup on the low or high slow cook settings - just put in ingredients and let them cook. Easy clean up too!

Nice high finish item.
Does have a learning curve. Also could be more powerful as it needs to heat up when you press saute. Else, it is beautiful and right sized for most things. It does quite as bit more than risotto.

Good cooker
I really like this rice cooker, the rice comes out perfect every time. I always put more water than they suggest, though, otherwise it's too crunchy. The minimum amount you can make is 2 cups uncooked rice, when I tried making just 1 it didn't cook well.

Very good device
I've used this for Risotto, Saute, low and high Slow cooker - and the results have been absolutely as fantastic as the other reviews. Fluffy Rice setting (steamer) is a bit of a nightmare. I'm looking at what I am doing wrong. you can't press the Rice/Steamer and walk away.

Second One
The second risotto maker is great. Unfortunately, the one I ordered didn't work at all. I plugged it in and no heat. Thank you to Sur La Table because even though the Breville instructions are not to return to store, and even though I had ordered it online, my store here in Houston, gladly exchanged...

My wife uses it daily for soups or rice or stews Unfortunatly on rice it always seems to bubble over past the lid and that means it runs down over the switches - we had some problems with one of the buttons sticking or not working until we figured out it was because of the rice water getting into...
