Plantronics Voyager Edge

Plantronics and Jawbone have been duking it out with their Bluetooth headsets for years now, the former focusing on superior call quality while the latter delivers devices with unrivaled style.

Excellent call quality; Easy pairing using NFC; Charging cradle included; Solid battery life given its size

Mediocre wind resistance; Tested range is slightly short

Plantronics Voyager Edge Bluetooth Headset

Plantronics' headset is about twice as long as Jawbone's, although the shape is different. Instead of having parallel edges, Voyager Edge starts with a diamond shape at the top, with a 1.8" long, 0.2" wide segment jutting out from the bottom.

Plantronics Voyager Edge Gets the Job Done: Review

Make no mistake about it, Plantronics new Voyager Edge Bluetooth headset is direct competition for Jawbone's recently released Era headset. Both headsets sport a similar feature set and ...

Built in NFC; great call quality; very comfortable fit; music playback sounds surprisingly good for a mono ear piece; better battery life than its competition; comes with charging case; compatible with wideband audio for use with HD Voice-enabled smartphones; moisture resistant; very comfortable to...

Battery life could still be better; wish it were smaller in size; design feels a bit uninspiring

Very Good Bluetooth

Bluetooth works great. Very clear voice even if car windows are down. However if there are loud extraneous noises they get picked up. The skin sensor is sometimes flaky cutting in and out from the hand set to the ear. If you touch it to preposition it will switch back to the handset.

Clear voice transmitting and receiving

Sometimes uncomfortable to wear; loud extraneous noises get picked up; skin sensor flaky

Plantronic's Voyager Edge balances great call quality with trim size

In the end, my misgivings proved unfounded. Not only is the Edge as good at killing background din and isolating your voice as the Voyager Legend, it sounds noticeably better than the Era without being a heck of a lot bigger.

The Plantronics Voyager Edge packs outstanding call quality and noise cancellation; The headset is also light, comfortable to wear, and compact for a boom-style device.

The Voyager Edge's ear tips don't form a tight audio seal and take some fiddling to position properly

Plantronics Voyager Edge

The Voyager Edge has three built-in mics that have a propriety noise and wind cancellation features that help provide one of the clearest voice calls I have experienced. Setting up the Edge is an easy option, you don have to hold down a button to set up Bluetooth.

Plantronics Voyager Edge Bluetooth Headset: Australian Review

Bluetooth headsets aren't the sexiest of technology devices. They're all about function over fashion. There are a select few, though, that manage to look good while also doing some pretty impressive things.

Beautiful design; Excellent voice recording quality; Useful voice and answering controls

Expensive; Not great for music; No charger; stiff earpiece

Plantronics Voyager Edge Bluetooth Headset White

I like to do be able to do my work anywhere when I am out and about. I can make calls with the Voyager Edge in noisy shopping centres, walking along busy streets with planes flying overhead and buses going by, next to noisy washing machines and the person at the other end of the line has no problems...
