I really do love the range of this lens and sharpness is pretty nice. I just cannot get over how horrible the chromatic aberration is. Even with advanced post-production it is still evident.

The lens has a very fast and near silent ring-type USM (ultrasonic) AF drive which provides full-time manual focusing in one-shot AF mode. The AF accuracy was spot on during the tests.

Up until now, there haven't been many truly wide angle zoom solutions for Canon's APS- C sized sensors. This lens changes that picture, but at a price. When I received the lens , it did not have a front lens cap. I was not packed very well especially considering that it is a camera lens. Not enough packing to stop it from knocking around in the box. The box was too large for the small lens. Luckily it was not damaged as far as I can tell.

i use this lens in social photos, weddings, music shows, skate photos, is very good for that.

Easily Interchangeable; Fast / accurate auto-focus

It's a good lens. I was missing something in this focal range and had been looking at it for quite some time. Got a good deal on a used one and I'm very pleased with it. Not as fast as the L series lenses I have. Not as sharp either, especially at apertures wider than f/8, but it's still nice.

Excellent on my 60d. The widest I had before was on my 24-105L, but with the crop factor it could hardly be described as wide. Haven't used it loads, but the shots I have taken and inspected certainly have impressed me so far.

This was the 3rd lens I purchased after the kit lens. It is the widest lens you can get other than a fisheye(that is made by canon). Sigma make a cheaper one(10-20mm), but I'm really glad I went for the canon, the extra 2mm comes in really handy, it has made all the difference in some instances and...

One of the problems with the current level of Canon DSLRs that have video capabilities is their inability to snap to Auto focus as you shoot 'film'. One trick that I have learned is by using this lens as the depth of field at that range is quite wide.
