In typical cheapskate fashion, at least when it comes to lens hoods, Canon doesn't supply one with this lens, which when added takes the overall price to about £500.

The EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM from Canon has a 35mm equivalent focal range of 16-35mm, offering a very wide, corrected field-of-view. The lens is relatively compact in design, with a zoom ring at the front and a small manual focus ring at the rear.

Love the effects

It worked just like I expected it too but better. I used it at a work party in a limo and it worked great for getting the whole inside limo in the shot! My favorite shots to use this lens with are vehicles and cities. I am still exploring uses for it!

Distortion; Fits whole view; Great perspective

Distortion-this is only bad if you don't want it

Great value and Great for closeups

This is a great Lens for my Canon Rebel 4Ti. I have been a photographer for several years and I needed another lens like this one for closeups. It works great for closeups. Great Value. Very satisfied.

Teriffic wide angle lens

Very good wide angle lens. I have several Canon L-lenses and this lens is nearly as good. Ideal for interior and landscapes.

Great lens for crop sensor Canon

I use this lens with my 40D and it is the best wide angle lens for a crop sensor Canon. Better than the Canon 16-35L (for a crop sensor) and at half the cost. You can take great wide angle shots with little distortion.

Consistent Output; Sharp Focus

Hood not included

Incredible Image Quality

Bought this lens along with a Canon 20D from B&H a number of years ago. It has produced some of my best landscape images, with incredible image quality and color rendition. Took it on a trip through the Canadian Rockies a few years back and have some very memorable images to show for it.

Best ultrawide lens for compact DSLR

I just finished 3 weeks of shooting New Zealand landscapes on a Canon T1i. The 10-22mm ultrawide got a workout - and performed flawlessly. One minor beef is vignetting with stacked filters - and some conventional 77mm CPLs. Easy to solve with an low profile filter.

Light; fast; square; and VERY wide

Costly and requires low profile CP filter

EF-S 10-22mm

Its optical quality is everything what you can expect from good wide-angle zoom (very few CA@wide-opened, reasonable distortions, sharp etc) I have used this lens with 20D for crowd shots in busy exhibition shows and general views and I can only praise the AF speed, accuracy.

sharp - even wide-opened; wide enough for almost everything (10mm!); fast and precise ring-usm; optical performance

its bit pricy; but quality can't be really cheap anyway
