Based on general photography lens distortion is very good for its type and images are clear and sharp. Good for shooting landscapes, gardens + cityscapes when you cannot get far back. NB you should use a lens hood to stop flare spoiling you pictures when sunny.

This lense is a great investment for any budding landscape photographers, its wide angle allows you to cram so much into your picture. Its also fantastic for taking photos inside, giving your photos a great depth of field, ideal for real estate agents alike!.

This lens is the reason I keep my 7D body after upgrading to a 5DM3. If I want to shoot landscapes I prefer the images from this lens over my 24-105L by a long shot. You can't go wrong with this lens.

Excellent lens! I had been looking for a wide angle lens for awhile. I debated between this lends and a Sigma lens which was a little less expensive, but, decided to buy this. I am glad I spent the extra cash. The colors are excellent and images are sharp.

I am very impressed with this lens. I didn't realize just how wide-angle this lens was. At 10mm, I can stand just a few feet in front of a 13-story building, and get the whole thing in the picture, from the entrance to the top of the building.

I use the 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM mainly for waterfalls and small cascades in the mountains of the south east US. With a APS-C camera sensor this focal length is superb. While there is some distortion at the 10mm end for my purposes it is not objectionable.

In typical cheapskate fashion, at least when it comes to lens hoods, Canon doesn't supply one with this lens, which when added takes the overall price to about ￡500. For that, you'll get a solid, full-frame lens that seems to work equally well on smaller sensor cameras such as the EOS 400D.

In terms of lens price, this probably falls mid-range, but when you compare this with standard lenses - this lens will knock the socks off it!
