iPhone 5s review

iOS lives up to the hype; Truly beautifully hardware; An unbeatable App Store;

Screen feels increasingly small; Lacks the liveliness of Android; Currently few ways to use the extra grunt;

Apple iPhone 5s (16GB, Gold) - Excellent review

A respectively fast processor, excellent build quality and a great operating system, but has since been replaced by newer models

An improved sequel to the iPhone 5, which was Apple’s best iPhone to date. Retains the same 4” screen, LTE cellular support, and form factor, while offering three chassis color options and adding a fingerprint sensor.

Despite a larger battery, real-world battery performance too often falls below Apple’s best case estimates, with potentially major problems in cellular calling talk time, and similar drain with cellular data.

Apple iPhone 5s (16GB, Gold) - Excellent review

The iPhone 5s and iOS 7 combine to give users one of the most seamless user experiences in mobile today. The iPhone 5s will stand toe-to-toe against any current flagship smartphone and in most cases it will feel like the newer, faster device.

Apple iPhone 5s (16GB, Gold) - Excellent review

While it's a shame that picture and sound quality haven't been upgraded, the iPhone 13 was great in these regards and the iPhone 14 is, too Excellent display Admirable headphone performance Solid build quality No upgrades to picture or sound Familiar design Notch is still present

Apple iPhone 5s review

This phone has appeared in our Best budget smartphones 2016 list.

Apple's iPhone 5s has a small screen by 2013 standards and is unlikely to attract users switching from large screen Android devices, but it remains the best smartphone Apple has ever released. The useful fingerprint sensor, a faster processor and improved low light camera performance will keep most iPhone users satisfied.

Touch ID is genuinely useful; Improved low light camera performance; Excellent performance;

Average battery life; Same sized 4in screen; Touch ID needs more support;

Apple iPhone 5s (16GB, Gold) - Excellent review

Apple’s pattern of iteration isn’t smooth when it comes to the iPhone . It bumps along: a new case design one year, more subtle advancements the next. The iPhone 5s is, as the name implies, a phone that doesn’t look much different from last year’s iPhone 5.

Touch ID fingerprint sensor; camera flash adjusts to ambient light temperature; big speed improvement over iPhone 5

Screen still feels small next to other high-end phones

Apple iPhone 5s (16GB, Gold) - Excellent review

I confess that I use Android smartphones more than the iPhone, but every year when a new iPhone comes out, I get giddy with excitement. There is a simple magic to iOS devices, with a bevy of complex engineering, brilliant software design and killer marketing behind that simplicity.

Still stunning looking, great quality, sharp and colorful display, excellent camera, a fingerprint scanner that's actually easy to use.

A 4" display on a flagship smartphone in 2013 seems so old fashioned.
