Nice hard drive, got it for a good price. Cable is short but not an issue. Using the included backup software. The software allows me to get to the files when not at my primary computer (does not create an unreadable backup that is only accessible from the software)

Easy to Use; Features; Quiet

I use this drive to provide Time Machine backups for the 3 Macs in the house. Two of my Macs have USB2 ports, so these ports dominate the write speeds to the disk. Even though the TM backups took 20 or 30 min each, these were the first time backups which amounted to 60-90GB.

Silent, low power, reliable (so far); The small form factor and self-powered aspects are pluses as well

None; Update(2016/Jan): I used it a few times (maybe 4) and had it unplugged sitting on my desk; I used it just now for another Time Machine backup and it started to act weird; It would unmount spontaneously.

It's SO small! Well, compared to my previous back up drives. No problems with connectivity, easy to use and the in-built back up software makes the device so simple. I now have the peace of mind that my PC is being backed up every hour. Or you can just use it as a storage device - up to you.

This 4 TB external hard-drive works extremely well. The back up software is excellent and simple to set up and quietly backs up my data. The unit is compact and doesn't generate excessive heat. I have several of these units now. I highly recommend this product.

I always use "Passport" size external HDDs for backups and my old 2TB had not enough space anymore. This one has huge capacity for such a small box and will last for a few years. High recommendation.

I've been using a WD HD as my backup drive for a little over a year. It's my Time Machine drive on my desktop so it stays plugged in and on all the time. So far so good. Their HDs seem to be well made and reliable. The prices are competitive.

I bought two for mirrored backup and archival storage. Works as advertised. Wish it was thinner, but not a big deal. A bit larger than a pack of cigarettes and about as thick. Have not tested performance since that's not terribly important to me - seems to be quick enough.

This hard Drive was easy to install an it works great with both My Mac at home and my PC at work. No hassle at all.
