Sony FE 200-600mm f/5.6-6.3 G
Are you a Sony photographer who wants a well-performing supertelephoto lens at a good price? If so, you may still consider a third-party alternative if you’re on a budget – and Sony’s own 400-800mm f/6.3-8 is tempting if you care more about focal length than maximum aperture – but otherwise, there...- Chromatic aberration is moderately high at the wider focal lengths, Moderate focus breathing means that you don’t get a true 600mm at closest focus (more like 500mm), Background blur can be a little busy, A little on the large and heavy side (though no more than similar lenses)
Sony FE 200-600mm F5.6-6.3 G OSS Review
The Sony FE 200-600mm F5.6-6.3 G OSS is a premium zoom lens. Its focal length is an ideal fit for wildlife and sports specialists, and an internal zoom design sets it apart from lesser-priced alternatives. The 150-600mm zoom lens has proven to be an attractive option for photographers who want long telephoto reach, but don't want to break the bank on a pro-grade prime. It's been an especially popular lens for enthusiasts who enjoy capturing distant subjects like wildlife. Sony camera owners haven't had a native lens of this type to date, but the company is bringing out its own version in the form of the FE 200-600mm F5.6-6.3 G OSS ($1,999.99). It costs more than a basic option like the Sigma 150-600mm Contemporary, which can be used with Sony cameras via an adapter, and justifies its price with speedy autofocus and an internal zoom design. Perfectly Portable The 200-600mm is a little larger than the Sigma 150-600mm Contemporary. It measures 12.5 by 4.4 inches (HD), versus 10.2 by 4.1 inches for the Sigma. But the Sigma, and similar lenses from Nikon and Tamron, all telescope outward when zoomed in. The Sony 200-600mm's zoom is completely internal, so its dimensions don't change bas...- Long telephoto reach
- Fast focus
- Internal zoom design
- Dust and splash resistance
- Teleconverter compatibility
- Narrow maximum aperture
Sony FE 200-600mm f5.6-6.3 G OSS review so far
The Sony FE 200-600mm f5.6-6.3 G OSS is a super-telephoto zoom for Alpha mirrorless cameras aimed at sports, aviation and wildlife photography without breaking the bank. Announced in June 2019 alongside the FE 600mm f4 super-telephoto prime lens, they bring the total of native e-mount mirrorless...
I'm very shocked at how much I liked the Sony 200-600mm f5.6-6.3 G OSS after playing with it for a weekend. I'm not saying that because I doubt Sony's ability to make a great lens, but because I found the lightweight, focal length range, relatively compact size, and image stabilization combined well...

What does this mean ?
Sony FE 200-600 mm f/5.6-6.3 G OSS
I have to admit that I am among them - I have been the happy owner of this lens for more than two years. I use it mainly for bird photography and performs excellently. Of course I must add that I am a complete amateur when it comes to bird photography – I never build any kind of cache, I don't...- solid, closed, and weather-sealed mechanical construction,, very good image quality in the frame centre,, sensible image quality on the edge of the APS-C sensor,, negligible longitudinal chromatic aberration,, moderate lateral chromatic aberration,, lack of problems with spherical aberration,, very...
- too weak image quality on the edge of full frame,, a lot of problems with the performance against bright light,, a bit too high vignetting on full frame,, a bit too much slack in zoom ring.
