Fantastic camera. It's the "One you take to the desert island" one. It's a great street shooter camera as it is a family portrait camera. I am fortunate to own and enjoy this piece of equipment.

Short Battery Life

The camera I received in April 2016 has a serial numbers that was part of the recall announced by Sony in 2015. Kind of disappointing for a camera at this price.

I didn't pay this kind of money for a camera that has a known defect and has to be reconditioned or replaced . Have not yet called Sony but will soon; I don't relish the hassle and wasted time

Simply amazing camera. I also have a Canon 5D, Nikon D810 and a Hasselblad 500CM. This camera is my favorite. Size, features and image quality is exceptional. I love it.

Superb in every respect but battery life (stock up on X batteries, and get a 3rd party dual charger!). Image quality, dynamic range, high ISO performance, colours and bit depth absolutely flawless.

Battery Life Very Poor

After a5100 a6000 a7R then back to aps-c with the a6300 I finally land on the RX1R II. I decided my LBA condition was killing my bank account so to end it I got a 35/2 fixed lens 42mp full frame compact camera, and am I glad I did.

After a flurry of camera announcements from Sony towards the end of 2015 we were not expecting any big launches. However, as the year drew to a close Sony surprised us with the Cyber-shot DSC-RX1R II – a replacement for the RX1R.

Best mirrorless camera there is......

I use only prime lenses and favour 35mm. The fact that I cannot change the lens on this small camera does not worry me. I found the slightly larger Leica Q (at 28mm) just too wide (though it is a great camera) and so bought the RX1R MkII. It is excellent.
