Im a video guy and I love using DSLR and Mirrorless cams when i travel so I don't get excess attention when filming, I also shoot corporate/ interview. and events. I tend to shoot at night/ dark environments and have come from the world of Canon cameras.

I know this is a video version of the A7 family. The video is amazing, but this pictures are the most sublime. Not just low light- everything is amazing. Plenty of resolution if you aren't a power cropper.

Auto Focus is it's only weak point; though as good or a little better than A7

the low light king - sony menus and battery life are terrible - buy a ton of sony brand batterys , the cheap stuff doesnt last very long after a few months - one of the best features is being able to zoom in to check focus while recording video

After 3 weeks with an A7S + a LA-EA4 and a Sony 50mm F1.4 and a Battery Grip ... I can say that I'm in love with this camera. Every photo we took are so nice, so colored, noiseless with a great IQ ... This camera is a toy that says : take photo, take photo, take photo !

Bought this camera at Adorama in NYC and I am not in Brazil and Sony does not provide access to their Playmemories site from overseas, so I can't buy and download their app for time-lapse, unless I return to the US and download from there.

Beat up this camera on some very rugged shoots. Super durable. Extremely high quality, and amazing image. Keeping the sensor clean is a very delicate process; be extra careful!

Traveling around Europe at the moment. Used it in Cork 11 pm. The town was glowing. It was like daylight.

Bought to capture aurora borealis live video and its great up to 50k iso ( gives 2 to 3 stops more than my canon 6d ) beyond that dissapointing with red/magenta corners/edges apparently a known issue with the A7S sensor. Not much to do about it but to crop, or stay away from the highest ISOs.

It seems like it will break but I took it on a 4 day sailing trip with lots of motion and rain and it is OK

GREATE low light camera; I have,( like all us), never have taken photos at night without a flash; It is a new world I am just discovering; I own the A7R and the 7S has much better focusing

Changing batteries all the time
