Sonos Move - Black MOVE1AU1BLK review

In a move that simultaneously felt like a very natural evolution of their product line as well as (finally?) answering every unrequited request ever made of the company, Sonos today announced Sonos Move , a portable, battery-powered, water resistant, weatherproof, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi speaker.

Hands on with Sonos Move, Sonos' first Bluetooth speaker

Having dominated the multi-room market for years, it was an oddity that Sonos hadn't used its expertise to release a Bluetooth speaker. That's now been addressed with the Move, the first Bluetooth speaker from the Californian company that "goes wherever you go"; a speaker that sounds great outdoors...

Sonos Move review: Finally, a portable Sonos with Bluetooth connectivity

We've been waiting a long time to see Sonos launch a portable speaker with Bluetooth streaming. In fact, we asked co-founder Tom Cullen about a portable speaker back in 2015, so it's something we've been pining after for a while.

Excellent sound quality; Durable and water-resistant design; Bluetooth capabilities; AirPlay 2; Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa support; Stereo pairing

Heavy and therefore not all that portable; Quite expensive; No voice control in Bluetooth mode; Can't use two Sonos Move speakers as surrounds

Sonos Move review: Glorious audio performances at home and on the road

The Sonos Move is a fantastic portable speaker and a rugged, weatherized component of one of the world's preeminent multi-room audio systems.

Fantastic audio performance; indoors and out; Automatic Trueplay optimizes audio performance for wherever the speaker is playing; Amazing range while...

Highly directional sound stage (it's wide; but not circular; No support for the aptX or aptX HD Bluetooth codecs; Limited to 16-bit/48kHz resolution

Sonos Move

The Sonos Move is rugged, portable, sounds great, and works with an app that allows you to tweak the sound signature to a degree. Throw in voice control with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant, and there's not much to complain about.

Powerful audio with rich bass depth and bright highs; Portable, dust- and water-resistant build; Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant voice control

Expensive; Heavy; Sculpted, mono sound signature not for everyone

Sonos Move review: Great outdoors

The Sonos Move is a pricey portable, but it sure can power a pool party

Superb build quality; Integration with Sonos systems; Sounds especially good outdoors; User-replaceable battery

Sonos app doesn't work over Bluetooth; Big size; big price

Sonos Move Review: Taking the music with you

The new Sonos is meant to go anywhere, but it excels at home

Sound quality is superb; It's built to last; A portable Sonos speaker is very useful

It's pretty hefty; The cost is significant; Battery life could be better

Review: Sonos Move is the do-it-all AirPlay 2 speaker you've been looking for

The Sonos Move is an exceptional speaker that aims its sights high in an attempt to conquer both in and outside the home. AppleInsider jams out to see if lives up to the Sonos name.

Sonos Move: Sonos goes mobile

In short, I love the Sonos Move. I was initially surprised at how big and heavy the Sonos Move was and at 3kg and nigh on a foot tall, it isn't a speaker you're going to want to sling your backpack. But if you want great sound quality you have to accept some compromises.

Awesome sound quality; Weatherproof and drop-proof; Alexa and Google Assistant support

Big and heavy; Expensive

Sonos Move - Black MOVE1AU1BLK review

Sonos’s most versatile speaker yet really does do it all – but it doesn't come cheap

Open; large-scale sound; Neat charging base; Auto Trueplay is effective; Multi-room smarts

Expensive; No aptX Bluetooth support; Not class-leading sound; Big for a portable speaker
