Shure SRH840

I have had 2 pairs and both have stopped working, these aren't professional headphones and I'd stay away from them if you want to keep them longer than a year of professional use.

Shure SRH840 Professional Monitoring Headphones

I was looking for a pair of over-the-ear cans for use at work. I wanted good sound and some isolation -- both incoming, to enjoy the music more, and outgoing, so as not to disturb others. In looking at the reviews here and on other Web sites, I was drawn to the SRH840.

Great closed-design, neutral headphones

These headphones are pretty great. They're very clearly intended to be used as monitoring headphones, which is basically what Shure advertises them as. They have a very neutral sound to them, and they don't try to make the music overly musical like my Grado 325is do or exaggerate the sound stage...

Great Price/Performance

J&R has a great price[...]. Happy to do business with them once again. The overall performance of this headphone rivals anything double the price. And in most cases surpasses that when talking about closed, as well as every open HP I have had the chance to demo.

Shure SRH840 headphones rock.

For years I used another common brand headphone for musician monitors which were ok but the Shure 840 is a huge step up. Less distortion with better frequency response. Should have switched to these years ago!

Studio headphones that live up to their brilliant reputation. No regrets!

Before buying these Shure's, I looked into many different headphones such as Grado Sr60's, Sony MDR-7506/7509's and countless others. From my research, I found that the Shure's had a relatively flat frequency response, good full spectrum sound reproduction and were comfortable.

The SRH-840, top of Shure's first line of headphones, is perhaps the best bargain in mid-level cans out there today. With an MSRP of $199, and a street price significantly lower, it can hang with cans costing three or four times as much.

Great Headphones for Great price

I just bought the Shure SRH 840 headphones yesterday and all i have to say is wow, compared to all of the other headphones i have used in my life, these are absolutely jaw droppingly amazing in my eyes. sure, they may not be audiophile quality, but i absolutely love them.

I bought the SRH840 a few years ago and have loved them ever since. They sound amazing and are very comfortable to wear. I have used them running live sound and they are a bit bulky especially if you are constantly taking them on and off. I mainly use them at home. Highly recommend them!
