Works as expected-- sound is great playing all formats-- easy to use. Wish it had an on/off capability versus unplug to switch back to PC speakers.

Shure SRH 440

Below the SRH 840s in the product range, Shure offers the SRH 440s, a hybrid set that's half-portable, half-fixed. Shure is continuing with their rather offbeat product positioning - this is a set of monitoring headphones positioned...

Transportable monitor headphones; Incisive; clear-cut sound; Very good soundstage and instrument positioning for closed-back headphones

Lack of balance -de-emphasized midrange and too much bass; Not light enough

Shure SRH 440 Headphones

It always pays to check your mixes using a decent pair of headphones as you'll often hear nuances that are missed when listening through your main monitors. great value and a good bit of kit

These are nice headphones. The response is balanced (no boomy bass) and perfect for reference listening or monitoring while tracking audio. The detachable cable is a smart design, and they fold to a reasonable size. These are not perfect, but no headphones are going to be.

Balanced sound; Comfortable; Detatchable cable; Lots of value for price

None at this price

"SHURE DELIVERS THE GOODS"

Them bottom line is the sound. And they sure are the BEST I've heard. I can see myself using these phones for a long time. The highs, mids and lows are very even. I actually hear things on these phones that I didn't hear before.

"Good Professional Budget Headphones"

Shure have been producing high class audio equipment for quite sometime. Readers may have heard of their flagship SM series, such as the SM57 or SM58 microphones, and due to this, it was no surprise when they started creating studio headphones.

Crisp clear Audio; Ideal for home studio mixing; easy on the eye

Un-comfortable after 1 hour and exposed wires

Shure SRH440 Professional Studio Headphones

Shure has been known in the pro-audio realm for decades as the manufacturer of one of the most-used microphones ever (the SM57), and in recent years the company's consumer line of earphones has attracted quite a following.

Strong bass response and crisp highs; Ideal for recording, but also great for general listening; Detachable, replaceable cable

Can be uncomfortable when worn for long periods

affordable professional quality headphones

Comfortable, robust and good sound quality . Others in small room can't hear me banging away my electric guitar with these plugged into amp.

I bought these headphones because I wanted a high quality monitor that could isolate the noise and chatter of my surrounding (especially when I'm shooting concerts or wedding receptions). I also wanted to get double for my money as I needed something just as good to monitor my audio while editing.
