Shure SRH440 Studio Headphones

These headphones are great. The bass response is excellent. Despite the fact that these don't use any sort of frequency interference to noise cancel, I don't here a thing but the music I listen to when i'm wearing them. I also think they are fairly comfortable, even for several hours at a time.

Sophisticated & Economical

I received these just before leaving on a week-long vacation, on which they got quite a bit of use. SOUND: I didn't burn them in, but right out the box they sounded great. The bass tends to be weaker than I'd like on some songs, but on others is all-enveloping and punchy...

Upgrading from Sennheiser HD 203's to these. Completely worth the doubling in price. Sound is excellent but do require about a day of burn in, they sound far better afterwards. Very comfy to wear too.

Shure?SRH440

Recently purchase a pair of SRH440 as a gift. Had the budget set at around $100 USD give or take depending on quality and what is available. What I needed were a set of closed cans that can be driven easily by ipod/iphone.

Shure SRH440 review

Shure is a firm known for professional-quality microphones and studio headsets, so we started out with high expectations of this entry. With an RRP a little above our £100 cut-off, the SRH440 phones are widely available at a price point closer to £80, so they sneak in under the wire.

Balanced output with strong bass; industrial good looks; suitable for studio work

Not very portable

Great for tracking, not the best sound

I own these along with AKG K240 Studios. I first bought the K240's over these for the comfort along with the sound quality. While these sound very good they just don't match the clarity and smoothness of the semi open back AKG's. These are fully closed back so give you a sorta pressured feeling.

Shure Headphone review 2010

Works as expected-- sound is great playing all formats-- easy to use. Wish it had an on/off capability versus unplug to switch back to PC speakers.

Shure SRH840 and SRH440 Mixing & Monitoring Headphones

A great set of cans is essential whether you spend a lot of time in the studio or play drums live to a click-track. A relative newcomer to the professional headphone space, Shure has taken their expertise with in-ear monitoring and microphones and applied it to this essential area of sound...
