Roccat Renga Gaming Headset

The $50 price bracket forces you to make compromises. It lands you somewhere between bargain-bin headsets without many redeeming qualities and higher-end models with a lot more features starting around $75. Are there gems to be found in that middle range? Roccat would like us to think so.

Low price; Solid looks & comfort; Decent sound quality at this price range

Rigid cable; Underpowered drivers; Open design allows in ambient noise and allows out some sound leakage

ROCCAT Renga Gaming Headset Review

Gaming headsets have changed considerably over the past few years. Gaming headsets tended to be bulky, had every option you wanted, and even ones you didn't. Since competitive gaming is really pushing the industry gamers needs have definitely changed and now we are seeing lighter and less...

– Lightweight design; – Ventilated ear cups; – Drivers tuned specifically for gaming; – Price

– No layflat or foldable design; – Bass is lacking

Roccat Renga

The Roccat Renga is comfortable and uniquely stylish, but its audio performance won't likely blow you away. But then, at $50, it doesn't have to. It's a capable gaming headset that offers good value considering its build quality and included adapter, and while we wouldn't recommend it for serious...

Inexpensive; Good build quality; Attractive design

Mediocre bass and high-frequency response limits appeal for listening to music; Boom mic isn't removable

Keeping in mind that I'm comparing this product to similarly-priced gaming headsets, ROCCAT has nailed the acoustics on this new release, meaning it's a dream device for any aspiring FPS professional.

You can't even feel it; The price; The acoustics

A lack of bass; Brittle earcups; Accessories

Studio grade Really

With the headset that I received, I would not recommend anyone buy these. Maybe you will have better luck.

They look like a headset; That is all

Volume and clarity on the mic is terrible; Friends now complain about how it sounds to them; They appear like a comfortable headset and looks are deceiving; It soon gets old and with the lack of a good stationary (holding tension) slide position, and becomes very uncomfortable.

while being quite comfortable the left earpiece has died on me

I have owned this headset for about 4 months, while being quite comfortable the left earpiece has died on me. Overall the sound quality is not "studio grade" but is very good. I would not recommend this product due to the fact that earpiece died on me.

Roccat Renga Headset Review

Recently, we have looked at some innovative and ultimately expensive gaming headsets at KitGuru. Priced at just under £40, the Roccat Renga bucks that trend as it is firmly positioned toward the budget end of the headset spectrum.

Affordable; Lightweight; Supplied y-splitter; Dialogue is crisp

Microphone obstructs your field of view slightly when lowered; Earcup ventilation is not entirely successful; Bass is somewhat lacking

Roccat Renga Headset Review

Headsets come in a variety of types and prices, with everything available from some extremely cheap models all the way up to headphones which would be at home plugged into an Ultrasound amplifier.
