Ring Video Doorbell Pro : Prime Day Early Access price crash

Unquestionably an upgrade from the Video Doorbell 2, but one that's probably overkill for most

Instant crisp video of videos and passers-by; Comes with a Chime in the box; The free subscription package is very good;

Motion alerts are pointless in urban areas; You're probably fine with the Doorbell 2;

Ring Video Doorbell Pro Review

When we reviewed the original Ring Video Doorbell three years ago, it earned high marks for its easy installation, sharp video quality, and motion detection, but was dinged for its middling audio quality, lack of on-demand video, and short battery life. With the new Video Doorbell Pro ($249), Ring has addressed all of these gripes and added some handy features including 1080p video, custom motion zones, pre-buffering to capture what was going on before the motion sensor was triggered, support for Alexa voice commands, and interoperability with other smart devices via IFTTT. All this earns it our Editors' Choice for video doorbells. Design and Features At 4.5 by 1.8 by 0.8 inches (HWD), the Ring Pro is slimmer and looks more like a traditional doorbell than the August Doorbell Cam Pro, the RemoBell, and the original Ring. It comes with four interchangeable faceplates (black, bronze, nickel, and white) to match the exterior of your home, a screwdriver, mounting screws and anchors, ...

The Ring Video Doorbell Pro is a sleek smart doorbell that lets you see who is at your door in real time, who came calling while you were away, and uses pre-buffering so you won't miss a thing.

Slender design; Sharp 1080p video; Supports IFTTT and Alexa voice commands; Motion detection with pre-buffering; On-demand streaming; Easy to install

Pricey; Access to recorded video costs extra; Some barrel distortion

Ring Video Doorbell Pro with Chime Pro 8VR4P6-0AU0 review

Once you've got over the hurdle of getting this video doorbell installed by a professional, it more than pays its worth back. With no battery powered bother to hold it back, it's always available and always recording - in great quality, too - with a bunch of useful notifications and features that...

Hardwired so never runs out of battery; Wide-angle of view and good quality footage; Can record 24/7 - unlike battery-powered alternatives; Multiple casing choices included; Lots of features - ring notifications / motion detection / motion notifications

Potential faff to install - requires electrician and instructions may not represent your existing setup; Needs a Ring Protect subscription to maximise potential; You'll want to buy a Chime or Chime Pro - the one in the box isn't as loud; Can't learn peoples' faces

Simply the best

We have bought several of these products now. Because of the instant notification and quick live stream I've thwarted 3 attempts to break into my car in my driveway. They've paid themselves off. Note a strong wifi is needed.
