I have had my Lumix GX9 for 6 months now, and have found it to be a very capable camera in a nice compact but sturdy body that is capable of taking some very high quality images which compare well against ones taken with more expensive cameras with larger sensors.

Button Placement on the Grip; High ISO noise

I was using G80 before. But I was wanting smaller camera with tiltable (not fully articulated) LCD screen. So I bought new GX9. Here is my conclusion on GX9 in comparison with my G80. 1) Electronic viewfinder disappointed me. It is almost unusable - can't adjust to get good, focused image.

A great little camera, ideal if you are into street photography as it is small enough to be carried in a pocket.Much better image quality than a mobile phone and the lens is interchangeable.At the time of purchase the price charged was unbeatable by any other seller.Very pleased with this purchase.

Panasonic Lumix GX9 Review (DC-GX9K) – I had a chance to review the Panasonic Lumix GH5 flagship camera in the past and it was a total video camera powerhouse. This time, Panasonic had kindly sent me another unit in the compact camera line: the Panasonic Lumix GX9 DC-GX9K . And here are my thoughts.

1st in Mirrorless innovation, LUMIX by Panasonic leads in Mirrorless ILC camera innovation with sleek, compact cameras like the LUMIX GX9. Its flat body style is favored by LUMIX G enthusiasts and noted for high image quality and the streetwise creative freedom it delivers.

It was universally lamented with the GX9 that the excellent viewfinder of the GX8 had been lost. This is not a miracle cure for that but it certainly helps. It's usable with glasses but I suspect would really come into its own without them. It fits well and there is a useful security string.

Before we really get into the Lumix DC-GX9, let's establish where it sits in Panasonic's lineup. Back in 2013, the GX7 pioneered the tilting EVF. Then Panasonic took the series upmarket with the GX8, and introduced a new lower-tier GX85 / GX80 / GX7 Mark II to go with it.

With its compact size, robust feature set, abundant controls and overall responsiveness, the Panasonic Lumix DC-GX9 is a great camera for all kinds of photographers. The trick tilting viewfinder is a neat touch (though we wish it were larger), and limited battery life remains a sticking point. But impressive in-body image stabilization, a pleasing JPEG engine and good quality 4K capture mean the Lumix GX9 is a camera we can easily recommend.

One of the promises of mirrorless cameras was, well, smaller cameras. And, yes, the premium models (see here and here ) from the Panasonic Lumix G Series are a little smaller than many DSLRs. But the Panasonic Lumix DC-GX9 is the one that combines high quality and compactness.
