We like the camera, the design and the battery life, but even with a 'shark fin' selfie camera, the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom is going to struggle to stand out in what's already a crowded market.

While this was launched before the Cricket World Cup it did not arrive with me until the Cricket season was finished. Indeed anyone watching the main courts at Wimbledon would have seen the ‘oppo’ name on the show courts, great advert but how many will have known what the name referred to.

The Oppo Reno 10x Zoom feels stylish in a way few phones do, from its smooth rear design to the asymmetrical and unapologetic pop-up camera. It may feel a little slow to use at times, thanks to the slow-to-respond user interface, but in general it’s a processing powerhouse that’ll do all you ask of...

The Reno 10x Zoom the is the first Oppo device we’ve reviewed here at AnandTech, and frankly I wasn’t too sure what to expect going into this review. The one aspect where the Reno 10x does stand out in is its design.

We are talking about the latest OPPO smartphone, the next in a series of devices the company have been creating that pushes the boundaries of photography and performance.

A Huawei P30 Pro with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage will cost you £899, and while Oppo's Reno 10x Zoom can't quite match the P30 on photography, it gets pretty close -- while offering excellent value for money at £700 for the 8GB/256GB model.

The Oppo Reno 5G is a great phone, and one of the more affordable first-wave 5G models. We’re just not sure you should buy this instead of the Oppo Reno 10X Zoom, which is largely the same but without 5G. If it was £50 extra SIM-free and you were planning on keeping it for several years before upgrading, it’d be no contest. 5G is the way forwards. But in the UK at least you have to buy the Oppo Reno 5G as part of a 5G contract. They’re expensive for now and, if you have not hit the geographical jackpot, not necessarily all that useful just yet.

Oppo has delivered a well-rounded and exciting new flagship that doesn't do as you might expect. It has the potential to take on some serious camera phone contenders too.
