I have some trouble expressing a strong opinion on the Reno Z because it doesn't do anything outstandingly well, but it does a lot of things very well, and the overall experience is actually pretty great.

It's hard to find much to dislike about the Oppo Reno Z – while some features could be better, like the chipset and camera, they're far from bad. Throw in the impressive design and display and you've got a fantastic phone, particularly given its budget price tag.

The OPPO Reno Z is not, by any stretch, a bad device. Set among other high-value offerings in the budget-to-midrange category, it stands out as a top contender. In fact, it's a top contender in the Android Headlines list for top value handsets. That doesn't mean it's without fault or caveats.

Fingerprint scanner is slow and inconsistent; Facial recognition is more consistent but slower; ColorOS is bulky; Software inclusions are convoluted; Speakers are loud but lack punch and bass in playback; No NFC; Bluetooth 5.0 is spotty disconnects with some types of devices; Night Mode 2.0 camera...

OPPO Reno Z is an affordable smartphone that packs a high-end wallop!

All things considered, the Oppo Reno 2Z is a nice smartphone. The phone has a beautiful design and treads well on the camera-performance, speed, and gameplay. The Reno 2Z is exceptionally good at video recording, battery backup, charging speed, and sound quality.

The Reno 2 Z launches at an astonishingly good price. Yes it's a little more than in six-month-old predecessor, but as it ditches the notch it's an even better-looking handset. And, really, it's a steal. As with the original Reno Z, the second-gen model is punching well above its weight.

With the Reno2 Z Oppo is offering a mid-range smartphone with a wide range of impressive photo and video features.

We called the original Reno Z a leading mid-range phone in our review. It wasn't perfect, but it offered a lot of hardware for a very reasonable spend. The Oppo Reno 2 Z just adds more, with an extra two rear cameras and motorised front camera that makes a great screen even better.
