The Oppo Reno 10x Zoom has been a long time coming, with the company first teasing a smartphone zoom camera concept back during Mobile World Congress 2017. The company showcased a one year later which appeared to be part of a nearly complete (but at the time still-unnamed) Reno test device.

OPPO has been working its butt off to try and get to the same level as their competitors when it comes to flagship phones, and despite their missteps with the Find X, it looks like the company finally has a solid flagship in the form of the Reno 10x Zoom.

Optical zoom seems to be the new obsession in the smartphone camera market, with the likes of Huawei, Honor, and OnePlus trying to beat one another. But before any of these companies made their move, OPPO was already playing around with periscope-style zoom lenses.
