Remember the days when Nokia ruled the roost and were the phone to have The Nokia 8110 made its first appearance in the original Matrix movie and this last couple of weeks I've been travelling down nostalgia lane with the 2018 update to this classic phone.

easy-to-use budget phone

"This is a simple budget phone with a small selection of good apps. The user experience is very easy to grasp and takes me back to my teenage years of using Nokia phones. It would be unfair to compare it to high-end smartphones but this phone targets a different market.

Nokia 8110 4G Cell Phone Review

Bringing back the Nokia 8110 is certainly a noteworthy coup even though it will not make anyone ditch their smartphones in favor of the bananaphone. It is much more likely for it to serve as a secondary device. Its benefits include long standby battery life and an amazing call quality.

sturdy and classy design; decent call quality; VoLTE; expandable memory; great standby battery life; FM radio

mediocre display; poor camera; Google Apps largely useless; somewhat complicated operation

As with other recent Nokia phones this is another disappointment. The good - it acts as a 4G hotspot and has good call quality, has a radio, MP3 player and some basic google services.

Nokia 8110 4G review: Banana phone reloaded

Retro tech gadgets are rarely much cop, but the Nokia 8110 4G is an inspired revival. It looks as cool as it ever did, and despite the slow, limited OS, tiny non-touch screen and fiddly keyboard, it's a significant improvement over the previous Nokia Originals release, the 3310.

Cheap; Iconic design; Doubles up as a fidget spinner

No touchscreen; Slow user interface; Keyboard slider not spring-loaded

4G , a perfect companion

fantastic design , right size and for me I only need it for calls , the internet is a added bonus. I hope there are more of these types of designs from other brands in the future

Terrible reboot of a classic

Brought a few weeks ago and now sits in a drawer such a shame as I had high hopes and have been looking for a decent feature phone so that I can ditch my distracting smartphone. Sadly this one misses the mark by a country mile.

Does what it says. Simple, easy to use, no frills,

Had enough of swipey screens that don't work properly and unwilling to pay £1000 for an iPhone. This is NOT a smart phone so don't expect it to be one. It works. Battery life is about 5 days on standby with Bluetooth enabled. Easy to use with the sliding cover, no pocket calls.

Interestingly, could have been in my pocket, but: 1. The calendar shows dates Sunday to Saturday, even if you set up Swedish. Then it shows M to S in the title, but the dates below continue appearing Sunday to Saturday, which becomes extra confusing. Oh well. I can run in English and customize me.
