There’s a lot to love in this wallet-friendly handset
Great value if you get it for under $500; Solid hardware; Android One is as always a joy
Camera could be better; Not super snappy; Assistant button gets triggered by accident

HMD Global does a lot right with the Nokia 7.2, but the smartphone shows some weaknesses in detail in some areas. There's a full dual SIM option plus an extra space for a microSD card, but the latter doesn't support exFAT. The display is both bright and high-contrast, but uses PWM.
bright and high-contrast display; memory expandable; fully-fledged dual SIM; Android One
microSD without exFAT support; PWM; old SoC

The Nokia 7.2 is a critical smartphone from HMD Global. The Finnish company seems to be betting a lot on the success of its latest mid-range smartphone in India, but I think the phone fell short on performance.
A $299 phone that's better than a Moto G7
My main takeaway is that Nokia is following a familiar path. With its 4.2 and now 7.2, the company is using the same formula Moto has used over the last few years.

The triple-camera setup with ultra-wide and depth-sensing options provides some versatility, and serious smartphone videographers...
Accurate target exposure in most conditions; Fairly wide dynamic range; Pleasant color in most conditions; Effective stabilization; Generally accurate target exposure; Low noise in all conditions
Color shading in all conditions; Strong noise in dark areas; Ghosting and ringing often visible; Occasional autofocus failures; Visible; sharpness; inconsistencies; Inaccurate white balance and strong chromatic noise in night shots; Very slow autofocus; Ghosting often visible; Color shading occurs...
The upper mid-range smartphone market is a tough one with lots of devices offering great value for money, and one of the hottest smartphones in that segment right now is OPPO’s A9 2020.
