This is a great lens that I use for portraiture as well as the common "miniaturization" landscapes. Excellent optics, probably the sharpest 24mm I own, and I have the 24-70, 14-24, and 24/1.4. An excellent lens.

Sharp; Great image quality; Good build Quality; Versatile

Cost; No rotation between shift and tilt

Complaints About Locking Knobs

This is a very nice lens and I look forward to many years of beautiful images. Before I purchased the lens I was taken aback by a number of reviews that complained about the tilt and shift locking knobs not tightening properly.

Complex but worth getting to know!

This lens is a gem! If you're used to 'auto everything' this isn't for you. You have to get to know the intricacies of this lens to be able to exploit its full potential. It vignettes at its maximum shift settings, a couple of the knobs are little on the small side, but the positive paybacks are...

Build quality; Sharp Focus; Strong Construction

Complex

This is a specialty lens, but it offers tremdous functionality.

This is the only lens I have ever bought used, but it was in pristine condition. I bought this lens primarily to take one picture, but have found a lot of use for it once I owned it. It is not a "point and shoot lens," but it has been a fun lens to learn to use.

Doesn't offer full movement but great for panoramas

"I rented this lens specifically for the purposes of shooting architecture and landscape images. What I found while shooting is that this lens is limited to both the shift & tilt or _swing_ funtion are locked to each other.

Nikon 24mm f/3.5D ED PC-E Lens Review

A highly specialised wideangle lens allowing control of perspective and the focal plane via tilt and shift movements.

Superb sharpness; Excellent controls; Great build quality

Quality at extremes of the imaging circle at wide apertures; Tensioning controls sometimes hard to access on my D700

Nikon PC-E Nikkor 24mm f/3.5D ED

The PC-E Nikkor 24mm f/3.5D ED is the most specialised lens we have tested to date. When used as a "simple" ultra-wide lens, it is extremely sharp across the frame, with no vignetting or edge softness to speak of, which is great news for landscape photographers.

Amazing

The lens is great. Sharp, easy to use and durable. The only problem with it, is the rise and fall when you are shooting vertical. It is very hard to lock the lens into place if you have big fingers. Although it is a pain, it is still a fantastic lens.

Consistent Output; Durable; Sharp Focus

Tough To Attach

Amazing Lens

This is an amazing lens. I purchased this for my Nikon D700 after a workshop with a large format landscape photographer. I use it more and more as I continue to discover its creative possibilities.
