As the headline indicates, this is a review of Netgear's new mid-range 802.11ac router, the R6400. But the most interesting discovery I made during benchmarking is how much TP-Link's Archer C8 802.11ac router has improved--at least at close and medium range.

Glad to buy it, as I have several dozen of neighbours with strong routers around and typically ANY router losses connection to my 4 notebooks and half dozen of smartphones, printers etc. I have to reboot normally 3-6 times per day. Netgear R6400 does this in a way that all other routers go to trash.

This is a great router. My cheap router of around 7 years quit working all of a sudden and I rushed out and bought a Netgear modem/router combo. When I had a hard time getting it to connect I called Charter and they informed me that the combo I had bought was in their minimum qualified devices.

Works exactly as promised though not exactly out of the box up and going for less tech-savvy people. The printer router sharing option is not as easy to use as it sounds, hence the four stars.
