NetGear GS105 Switch - Excellent Addon to FIOS Router
I needed more ports than my Verizon FIOS router provided, and adding this NetGear GS105 Ethernet Switch was a perfect solution. Its ease of installation, and network performance were great, and it fit the sweet spot in the price /performance/company reliability curve.

They won't honor their lifetime warranty. You can't make a claim via web/email, you have to call them, sit on eternal hold, and apparently be told your device is out of warranty. Even after repeatedly questioning about the lifetime warranty all they want to do is sell you an expensive phone support...

Compact and sleek
The sales staff was great they listened to my needs and picked this one for me. It works Great, does everything I was looking for and gives me the speed I was very concerned about keeping. It is small and can easily be mounted out of the way on the wall on the back of a desk or filling cabinet,.

Well built and a great feature set, only been using it for a week so don't really know if it will last, but out of all the switchers this seems to be the best for the money.

Does what I need it to
An OK little box. Does what I need it to, provide extra signal at the end of 25-50 feet of ethernet cable in a home network situation, plus extra ethernet ports. Not amazing or life changing, but good.

Fast and flawless.
Saw one of these at one of the places I worked and was impressed by it, so I bought my own. It's a fast, unmanaged switch and it works flawlessly. Very happy.

Good Hardware for Basic Switch Applications
I needed a GS105Ev2, which is a lot more switch than this GS105. However, I had a GS105E in a very non-demanding application, so I replaced it with this 105, and re-purposed the 105E. The GS105 allows Ethernet devices to communicate at 10/100/1000 Mbps.

This helped me hook up my steam link to my network. It seem to be preforming well and I don't see any potential problems with it in the future.
Pros:
- led's help tell you what speeds your lines are running on
- Solid metal construction
Cons:
- price is a little steep when not on sale
