- Bizarre difficulty spikes, - Questionable leveling system, - Massive fights can be hard to make out in handheld mode with all of the effects going off; - Combat is far too simple

If a film or book introduced a new hero every five minutes it would be a chaotic, poorly paced, incoherent mess. And yet somehow this hyperactive drip-feed of familiar masked faces ends up being the most exciting element of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order.

I've always known about the Ultimate Alliance games but despite multiple attempts to get into the series I never quite gelled with them. Marvel has never been my thing, but as games, they always seemed a bit too simplistic and I could never find the right group of friends to jump in.

Really good game. 4 character co-op mode is fun. Reminds me of the old TMNT or Gauntlet games. A huge gallery of characters to choose from once you defeat them or reach certain levels. The violence is anything you would see in any superhero fighting game. No blood.

Marvel diehards will certainly enjoy the fanservice on offer here, but even if you have no idea who the bloody hell Scarlet Witch is, there's a solid Hack ‘n Slash to play through, if you're willing to overlook its flaws.
