HyperX Cloud Mix review: Pivoting to a mobile lifestyle brand brings mixed results

Bridging the gap between wired gaming headset and mobile Bluetooth headset, the HyperX Cloud Mix doesn't quite nail either.

Pretty solid audio fidelity when plugged in; Standard HyperX comfort; Charges quickly and lasts for 20 hours on the go

Why would you use it plugged in; On-headset controls only work in Bluetooth mode; As expensive as buying two discrete devices; one wired and one...

HyperX Cloud MIX headset: "A brilliant gaming-first headset that does it all"

One of the best headsets we've tested, whatever system, machine or device you plug it into, you'll get quality sound and a great gaming experience.

+ Incredibly sound quality; + Extremely versatile; + Great design and fit

- Expensive; - No balancer between in-game & party chat volumes

HyperX Cloud MIX Wired Gaming Headset with Bluetooth Review

Bass. The final frontier. Well, it seems that way, with many headphones and gaming headsets these days tuned to a very bass-heavy sound that has the potention to reduce the overall realism of the sound while simultaneously making many users quite happy.

HyperX Cloud MIX wired gaming headset with Bluetooth review

REVIEW – If you have kids and you haven't been hiding under a rock, your child has probably been playing one of those "battle royale" type games, such as Fortnite or PUBG. My now 12-year-old son is no different.

HyperX Cloud Mix

The HyperX Cloud Mix offers up gaming credentials and Bluetooth capability, but it comes at a high price. And, the aim to fit two niches keeps it from excelling.

Clean sound; Quality construction; AptX support

A tad tight; Like paying for two headsets

HyperX Cloud Mix review: Pivoting to a mobile lifestyle brand brings mixed results

The HyperX Cloud Mix is a weird experiment, and one I don't think is entirely successful. It's expensive, the logo is obnoxious, and splitting the difference between wired gaming headset and mobile Bluetooth means HyperX doesn't really nail either market.
