I was surprised by the lack of advertising and reviews on the HyperX Mix. It seemed to be that HyperX would rather promote their other headsets. I'm not too sure why and it worried me a bit at first but, it's an all around well balanced headset that can be used in many different occasions.

Many people likely have more than one set of headphones. One for gaming, one for listening to music, and possibly a set of earbuds for the gym. Fortunately, more headsets are coming out that are trying to bridge the gap between wired and wireless use.

Gaming accessories come in all shapes and sizes, including headsets, pro controllers, charging docks, and more. They aren't necessary, but they typically enhance and improve the gaming experience. Personally, headsets are my favorite type of gaming accessory, especially for online multiplayer games.

Can feel too snug at times

HyperX has hit a home run with the HyperX Cloud Mix headset. The headset is comfortable, well-designed, and sounds great, making it an excellent option for gamers that want a headset they can use in daily life too. There is a problem though - and that's price.

And if you simply want a pair of Bluetooth headphones for music, meanwhile, the Sennheiser HD 4.40 BT remains a fantastic value, and the Marshall Major III Bluetooth stands as another good performer.

The HyperX Cloud MIX is the latest gaming headset from the range which has provided us with some of the absolute best ear-blasters in the business, and that from a company that actually made its name in RAM.

People who only care about the mobile half of the equation, and/or gym use, will probably want to stick to something like AirPods or Jaybirds, as the Cloud Mix's size, heat, and control limitations probably aren't balanced by the extra fidelity.

We don't often see Bluetooth connectivity in gaming headsets. Wired headsets simply use 3.5mm or USB connections, and wireless headsets tend to use adapters. The Kingston HyperX Cloud Mix follows in the footsteps of the Audeze Mobius, with both Bluetooth and wired connectivity, but instead of offering other high-end technical features, it simply provides an excellent listening experience for wired games and wireless music. At $199.99 it's one of the more expensive headsets in the HyperX lineup, but half the cost of the Audeze Mobius. That makes its versatility impressive, and combined with its audio quality, it earns our Editors' Choice.
