How do you sell a budget-priced point-and-shoot camera when smartphones have become so good at taking pictures? Fujifilm hopes the answer is to simply add an instant film printer, as evidenced in the Instax Mini LiPlay ($159.95), which is priced low enough to be considered an impulse purchase. There are some rough edges we would like to see smoothed out, but overall it's a very fun camera to use, one with special appeal to social butterflies and party photographers. After all, it's cool to share phone shots on Instagram, but there's no substitute to handing someone a print of a great candid capture. Cute and Compact The Instax Mini LiPlay is a cute little camera. It's about as small as can be managed while still holding a pack of Instax film, coming in at 4.8 by 3.3 by 1.4 inches (HWD) and 8.9 ounces. It's an evolution of the part camera, part portable printer Fujifilm Instax SQ20 , only in a much smaller package, so you don't have to think twice about taking it with you when leaving the house.

Fab camera works awesome as a Polaroid and phone photo printing just a shame if you want to use it with a memory card you lose the LCD veiwing panel and theres no way of uploading the 45 photos that store on the cameras internal memory.

This digital hybrid offers a lot for its money. Having the ability to be both an instant camera and instant printer that can print photos from your smartphone is a huge plus. But are all the features included useful

Fuji's smallest, lightest instant camera ever is more of a digital camera with a built-in printer, albeit one that still uses Instax format film. You compose with an LCD screen, not a viewfinder, and if your shots don't look too hot you don't have to print them, which is less wasteful - if not quite as charming as a true instant camera. The digital versions it saves aren't particularly detailed or high quality, but audio recordings add extra novelty, and its smartphone companion app is second-to-none. No other Instax can slip into a pocket like the LiPlay can, and it's reasonably priced too. It's not perfect, but it is the best hybrid around right now.

The Instax Mini LiPlay is a fun camera to use. There are plenty of built-in filters and frames, so it makes a great gift for younger kids that might not have smartphones yet and older kids and teens that will enjoy taking it to parties and photographing groups of friends.
