Great Cross-Cut Shredder

Wow. This shredder is so much quieter than our old Fellowes. It easily shredded a 2 inch stack of papers in just a few minutes. I hope it lasts as long as our old one. We have had it 12 years and its still going strong, we just grew and needed a shredder that could handle more volume. :)

It's Just Mediocre.

Works well, but there is a design flaw. The paper bag collector bin is very small, and it always leaves a trail of shredded paper on the bottom of the shredder. The plastic bag won't cover the entire bin, without the "bag door open" error. I believe that the collection bin could be greatly improved.

Bought this machine back in 2012 and still using it!!

Decided to write some reviews of our favorite items that my family bought on Amazon and the Fellowes shredder is one of them. Bought back in 2012 for our home office and it still works great today, this machine is not as noisy as a lot of shredders out there, it seems very sturdy strong and...

Fellowes Powershred 79ci is a quiet little monster !

I love this unit! Its powerful and very quiet. I'm pursuing a paperless, clutter free workspace and purchased (from B&H) a Fujitsu Scansnap IX500 scanner. I scan everything and then trash the paper.

Works very well....great feature that's useful is that it indicates whether you are trying to shred too many sheets at one time ( the red light comes on) so you can remove a few sheets before it starts.

Finally a heavy duty shredder that gets the job done!

After burning out several cheap shredders I finally decided to buy a heavy duty model. After reading the reviews I bought this Fellowes 79Ci and I am very satisfied with it. I can put so many more pages into it and it does not bog down, it keeps chomping away.

Superb

Better than expected, this is a machine built to last, the cutting head of the unit is very heavy & makes me feel confident of its longevity, very quiet, good safety feature built in to prevent fingers in the paper slot, couldn't be happier.

Excellent and durable!

My husband and I have quite a bit of paperwork that we need to shred on a regular basis. I did not want the kind that sits on a garbage can and can only handle a couple pages. This is sturdy and the wheels make it easy to move to wherever you need to be.

Fellowes Powershred 79Ci

The Fellowes Powershred 79Ci ($239.99) is a good choice as a shredder for your home office, or as a personal model for your small office or home. It's easy to use and reasonably fast.

Simple to use; Shreds CDs, paper clips, staples, and credit cards, as well as paper; Matched its rated speed in our testing

Not as jam-proof as promised; Casters are hard to attach; Unusually heavy lid
