It's slower at photo scanning than the FastFoto FF-640, but it's far more versatile, because it is much better at document scanning, which means you'll still have plenty of use for it once you've scanned through all your shoeboxes of old snaps.

Very good but not perfect.

If you have a lot of photos to scan, and I do mean a LOT, then I can recommend this scanner. It can do an amazingly fast job, but it's not without some issues. The scanner sensor area can get contaminated from the photos sliding past it, so it's important to inspect the scans say every 50-100 photos to make sure there are no lines on them, or clean the sensor area frequently, which is thankfully very easy. Dark areas of the photos can appear quite noisy or grainy compared to the results from my old Canon flatbed scanner. The automatic photo enhancement functions get it wrong a lot. Results can be too bright, missing obvious red eyes or applying red eye fixes to the skin surrounding the eyes, leaving obvious dark spots where there should be none. Auto rotation causes more problems than it fixes but rotating the photos afterwards is very easy. Great product

Love that you can scan up to 30 prints in one go and the machine automatically improves them. It then gives you the choice to keep either or both copies. Only thing I am having a problem with is doing mulitple copies of really small, old photo's.

So Easy to Use.

This product is exactly what is says a simple, multi photo photo scanner. It is easy to install and brings up old, dark photo's so well - gives you the choice of keeping the original scan, the adjusted scan or both. Easy file naming system and works with very small old photo's and ones up to A4 size. This was exactly what I needed for my 100's of old photo's.

Let's face it. The process of digitizing photos is mind-numbingly slow: the laying of each photo on the scanner and waiting the agonizing minutes for each to be scanned, then saving each photo.

Good company, initial impressions okay

I bought the FF-680W to replace an Epson Workforce DS-410 that had an internal part break. I initially bought another brand scanner that is highly rated, but found it was too picky about what I could scan. My DS-410 would scan just about anything, including folded documents, with no problems.

Great photo scanner/editor

This is a great photo scanner, even will do thick pictures (need to change settings) just read the instructions. The auto enhancement feature works well but I like to do extra touch ups in light room. Make sure to clean and blow out the unit per instructions.

Great scanner and extremely easy to use.

This scanner saved our family a lot of money by allowing us to convert old family photos by ourselves as compared to paying thousands of dollars to one of the online companies. The scanner, even on the lowest resolution, produces great copies and extremely fast and its very easy.
