Awesome signal throughout the house

I have Verizon modem MI424WR that is producing quite a weak signal not reaching all the rooms in my house. I tried a cheaper N300 externder (around $25) - the signal was extended, but the speed was dropping significantly. Once I got this extender installed, the problem was gone.

Stick with NetGear

Junk. Constantly drops WiFi signal. Terrible instructions on setting up. I had to work around using my own intuition to get it running. I'm relatively tech savvy, but it wasn't clear to me when I purchased that it's an extender, but it is really another extended portal.

D-Link DIR-865L AC1750 Cloud Router

While we still await laptop, tablet and smartphone makers to jump on the bandwagon, there is no doubt the 802.11ac revolution is now well underway. Having seen next generation routers from three of the big four manufacturers (Netgear, Linksys and Buffalo) it is now left to D-Link to complete the...

Excellent 802.11ac & 802.11n 5GHz performance; Bargain pricing; Easy setup with useful Cloud accessibility

Unispiring design; Poor 2.4GHz 802.11n performance; mydlink Cloud platform basic at present

D-Link Router : D-Link Wireless AC1750 Dual Band Router

Having recently looked at a couple of items from D-link it seems a natural extension to look at one of their recent Routers. This would give a no installation setup to their security camera as well as many other items to desire.

D-Link AC1750 Wi-Fi Router

You can't beat what you get for the price with the DIR-867. It has lots of the top 802.11ac features and it performed well during testing. I'm not sure it will stand up to years of use, but you'll probably be looking to upgrade your network by then anyway.

Consistent speed on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks; It has lots of the latest 802.11ac features as well as a usable app, parental controls, VPN support and quality of service (QoS) for prioritizing your devices; Best of all, it's less than $100

No USB ports for printers or network storage; The router doesn't feel very durable

D-Link AC1750 Wi-Fi Router DIR-859

The D-Link AC1750 Wi-Fi Router DIR-859 is a capable, if basic, budget-priced router for small- or medium-sized homes.

Affordable; Easy to install; Four LAN ports; Easy QoS settings; Good close-range 5GHz throughput in testing

Middling 2.4GHz throughput in testing; No USB ports; Non-removable antennas

Does the job, but not perfect

This extender does the job, but so far after about 2 weeks of use, here are the cons: 1) I found it difficult to set up. Didnt work with WPS with my D-Link router (but that might have been a problem with the router, as I wasnt sure it was actually going into WPS mode).

No difference

So far I havent noticed a difference with my internet connection. I got the device to help boost my connection as I was having a lot of trouble with my connection when trying to use Netflix. I am still having the same problem with Netflix buffering all the time. I am looking at returning this device.
