Pros: Fast / accurate auto-focus, Durable, Strong Construction Cons: Heavy Other thoughts: IN LOW LIGHT IS SHARP,FAST.A LITTLE OVER-PRICED FOR THIS DAYS.WONDERFULL COLORS.
Typical for most designated Canon L-grade (Luxury) lenses it provides an excellent build quality based on an tightly assembled metal body and smoothly operating zoom and focus control rings. The physical length remains constant regardless of the zoom or focus action.
Gary Wolstenholme reviews the Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L USM lens. Although lacking stabilisation, is it an ideal alternative for those on a tighter budget?
Good value; Excellent Build Quality; Very good sharpness in the centre of the frame; Fast focusing
Loss of sharpness towards the edges of the frame; Falloff of illumination towards the corners at 200mm
awesome lens. Great for portraits and landscape. The glass is far superior to Tamron's. Worth the extra money
Easy To Use; Improves Performance; Quality Construction

Still learning the new lens. It is a larger heavier lens but it what I expected. It shoots at a uniform 2.8 no matter the zoom which will make it perfect for work in low light situations like weddings and in shooting sports like high school football on poorly lighted fields and in basketball in high...
Consistent Output; Durable; Easily Interchangeable; Fast / accurate auto-focus; Strong Construction

I recently switched from Nikon to Canon and I bought this lens to replace my Nikkor 80-200 f/2.8. I am sure the fact that I'm now using it on a Mark III makes a difference as well - but I am blown away by how sharp these images are and how fast it autofocuses.
On a full frame body, the performance across the entire aperture range is simply brilliant. The weight helps balance the lens even at 200mm. The IS also works extremely well. Pictures are very clear and you can also get amazing portraits from a distance. Overall, a perfect lens.
INTRODUCTION The 70-200mm focal length has been one of the most versatile and popular zoom ranges available. First introduced in March of 1995 the Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L USM has been one of the go to lenses for sports, portraiture, and journalism across the world.
I bought this on 3/22/19 and returned it on 4/2/19. I shoot bird pictures and them in flight and the Lens just did not make the mark for me. Most all my pictures were blurred, very poor quality. I shoot with the 70-300 f4-5.6 IS II USM, the pictures are very sharped.
