Powering this with an AMD Fury X and running everything on max settings with freesync enabled. Used software to boost the Freesync range to 60-144hz. Only gripe is the minimal backlight bleeding on one corner of my screen. Not a big deal. Over time you wont even notice it anymore.

ASUS MG279Q 27" 2K IPS Monitor 144Hz DisplayPort+HDMI+USB, Eyecare Adaptive-Sync HAS SPK GamePlus FreeSync

Bought three of these to run an AMD Eyefinity surround gaming setup and they look mighty fine. The panels are good and have noticed no ghosting or colour aberrations or dead pixels. High refresh rates make gaming on these buttery smooth.

ASUS MG279Q Gaming FreeSync Monitor Review

ASUS has a terrific offering with the MG279Q Gaming monitor, it just ticks all the right boxes and offers very decent image quality with lovely tweaking options as well. 144Hz is a personal thing, for most 60Hz screens are more than sufficient, the hardcore gamers like 144 Hz, especially fast ones.

When we took a look at the monitor last year, we praised it for its sleek design, thin bezels, support of NVIDIA's adaptive refresh rate technology, and high-quality TN panel-relatively speaking.

Asus MG279Q: IPS gaming monitor has great viewing angles

The Asus MG279Q is one of two models in this roundup - the other is the Acer XB270HU - to use in-plane switching (IPS) technology. The other monitors use twisted nematic (TN) panels, which have inferior viewing angles.Hence, if viewing angles are your biggest concern, you should be looking at these...
