Good gaming panel IF you can get one that works!

The apparent void of QA is where this monitor loses an egg. My guess is Asus has decided that the process of Quality Assurance is too costly in terms of manpower and assets, so they have none in place for this particular product.

-1440p resolution! If you're coming from 1080p, the amount of screen real estate gained is CRAZY; Much less scrolling involved! -Decent build quality and quick release that attached panel to stand is a nice touch.

-As is the issue with current IPS displays, there is a fair amount of IPS glow involved; Its only really noticeable when working or playing against a dark background, but it can be distracting depending on the person; -Freesync is hard-capped at 90 FPS with this monitor.

Very happy

Been pretty lucky with monitors so I figured my number was up. Was worried about all of the negative reviews citing 'poor QC' but I got a good one. No dead or stuck pixels. Moderate light bleed and the normal IPS glow but otherwise a huge upgrade from my 1080p 144hz TN panel.

Asus MG279Q

This gaming screen from Asus comes with a 1440p resolution and a 27-inch diagonal, but that's not all to like. It's got AMD FreeSync on board to make games run smoother, and it's got screen modes that correspond to different game genres – an idea that's supposed to boost gameplay through screen...

Consistently good image quality; AMD FreeSync and 144Hz operation; Genre-specific game modes; Good control and ergonomic options

Rival from BenQ has more features; A little more expensive than the competition

Asus MG279Q

An exclusive first full review of the new IPS gaming screen from Asus, with 144Hz refresh rate and FreeSync support. Does this offer another impressive IPS gaming experience and how does it compare with the competition?

Very good response times and high refresh support from an IPS-type panel; FreeSync support works nicely; and without affecting overdrive; Much lower cost than G-sync equivalent

Missing a blur reduction mode; IPS Glow may still be off-putting to some people; Lag a bit higher than hoped at lower refresh rates

Beautiful Monitor

I really like this monitor. I use it for lite photo editing and gaming. At first I thought it might be too big, making it a chore to drag items across the entire screen, but now that I've used it I would say that 27 is perfect.

amazing screen.

i tried two other screens before deciding on this one, both were full hd screens but had tn panels and i wasn't happy with the colours on either of them. read some good reviews but also some bad about this screen but thought i would give it a try anyway.

No Quality Control.

Back light bleeding (BLB) in multiple places and 3 dead pixels. 2 right next to each other causing a larger spot. You can see the BLB on non black pictures. I thought QC would have been sorted by now. It does not come with a displayport cable either.

This is a great monitor although a little expensive but overall going from a 1080 p to this and 144hz it's an amazing experience

Exceptional Monitor

Outstanding monitor that combines the best of current display technologies; IPS image quality with TN like refresh rate. Provides brilliant picture quality (especially after tweaking settings), very low blur and input lag, high refresh rate.

IPS; 144hz; Quality

Just awesome

Upgraded from a 1080p 24 " monitor and haven't looked back since. playing project cars/bf4 in 1440p/ultra is just awesome. No issues with any dead pixels and only slight IPS glow in the bottom right corner which you can only notice on a black screen in a very dark room.
