Apple iPhone XS Max review: The biggest-screen iPhone with the biggest price

The supersize iPhone XS Max crams a 6.5-inch screen and all of the same great features of the iPhone XS into a Plus-size body -- but it's not as huge a leap up as you might think. There are three new iPhones in 2018, in three different sizes and prices. The iPhone XR is the more affordable and has the best battery-life of the new iPhones. The iPhone XS is the smallest, and the sleekest. But the iPhone XS Max is the showboat.
Pros:
  • The iPhone XS Max has a big, brilliant display and a little more battery life than the XS
  • It benefits from the improvements that the XS also has: faster speeds, some durability and water resistance improvements, better camera and dual-SIM support.
Cons:
  • It's so, so, so expensive
  • If the iPhone Plus models were too big for your hands, this one will be, too.

Beautiful and confortable to use!

I′m coming from the X, Note 9 and 8 Plus... but the Xs Max its on other level... this screen is awesome... the form factor its on the right spot. Unfortunately the iOS lacks a real utility with screen that size, like picture in picture or split screen for using more apps at once.
Pros:
  • Screen real state
  • great colors and brightness
  • Blazing fast
  • Constant performance
  • Great impovement on bokeh effect with real time preview
  • Improved sound output
  • Face ID a litte bit faster
  • Great overall design
  • Great battery
Cons:
  • A such huge display but no PiP or Split View
  • A huge square in the middle of the screen on volume change (iOS problem
  • Too heavy for me

Apple iPhone XS Max (64GB, Space Grey) AU - Pristine review

Having been the proud new owner of the iPhone XS Max for a few days, I’ve gotten a feel for the device. Here’s a compressed iPhone XS Max review. Everything is very fast and responsive. Apps spring right open. Photos scroll without delay. Maps render without a hiccup.

Apple iPhone XS Max 64GB Space Grey MT502X/A review

On a recent trip to Japan, I visited the mountain resort town of Karuizawa, about an hour’s train journey from Tokyo. One of the most scenic spot in this small resort is the Kumobaike Pond.

Best yet

Nothing I do not like here. The larger sizes have always been my preference. I did have some issues after bonding with Apple Watch. Sounds and some of Notifications were not functioning correctly. After I erased all setting and content and rebuilt entirely from scratch, it worked correct again.

Perfect replacement for my tired 7 plus I was really happy with. No revolutionary difference, one recognizes himself, but still it is clear that one refines the right things. The screen is the most obvious. In zoom mode, the cinemascope fills the entire surface.

Pros:
  • I've always loved apple products so this being the most recent was the natural choice for me
  • I love everything about this phone it's so easy to use
Cons:
  • My only minor complaint is that to purchase items from the app store you have to press the power button twice or of you want to lock the phone by pressing the power button because the volume buttons are exactly opposite you end up accidentally taking lots of scream shots

iPhone XS Max review

In some ways the XS Max could be your perfect phone. It brings the option of a larger screen to those for whom 5.8in just isn’t enough and is the first iPhone to cater for those who need two SIMs. It also brings upgrades to photos (Smart HDR), videos (extended dynamic range) and audio (better stereo). However, it remains tricky to justify the high price (from £1,099), especially if 64GB isn’t enough storage for you. Battery life could be better and while performance is great, it isn’t a huge jump up from the iPhone 8 or X. The upcoming iPhone XR could be a better alternative if you’re after something cheaper, too. And if your current phone isn’t an iPhone 6, 7 or 8 Plus, go to an Apple store and try out an XS Max for size before you buy.

Very pleased with the massive upgrade!

After nine years of ownership (from new) of iPhone 4, my husband and I recently invested in iPhone Xs Max each and so far we're both very impressed with it. The most impressive features for our personal use is the bright OLED display and the large size display screen, touch sensitivity, extended...
