Apple iPhone 14 Plus Dual SIM 5G (6GB RAM, 128GB, Blue) - BRAND NEW review

The iPhone 14 Plus is the outlier in Apple’s 2022 smartphone line-up – but it might just be the easiest one to recommend. This is the only iPhone 14 model that offers something different from what I’ve had before.
Pros:
  • Excellent battery life, Light design works well with the big screen, Fast and reliable performance, You want an iPhone that lasts (and lasts): Out of all the iPhone 14 models I’ve reviewed this year, this is the best for battery life.
Cons:
  • Some sacrifices for a high price, No ProMotion, No telephoto camera, A fast screen is key: While the iPhone 14 Plus’s screen is bigger, it still lacks some of the skills of the Pro models. There’s no ProMotion for fast refresh rate, for example, which feels a bit of a miss for a phone of this price.

Apple iPhone 14 Plus (128GB, Blue) AU - Excellent review

While there are clear disadvantages for picking Apple’s less-pro big phone, there’s also a clear advantage: it’s a more affordable take on the current sizeable iPhone. Up until now, if you’ve wanted a big iPhone, you’ve had to spend much more.
Pros:
  • A bigger iPhone 14, Auto-focusing front camera, Well over a day of battery life, Solid performance, Wireless charging, Water resistance, Less pricey than the same-sized iPhone 14 Pro Max
Cons:
  • Only two cameras, Technically just a bigger iPhone 13 or 14, No 120Hz always-on screen

Apple iPhone 14 Plus Dual SIM 5G (6GB RAM, 128GB, Blue) - BRAND NEW review

Since the Apple iPhone 14 Plus has a lot in common with the iPhone 14 , our verdict is very similar. The iPhone 14 Plus, too, is an excellent smartphone and a top choice in terms of the design, build quality, display, camera, battery life, and performance.
Pros:
  • excellent OLED display, dust- and waterproof, fast Wi-Fi, wide range of frequencies supported, excellent camera, very fast performance, great battery life
Cons:
  • display limited to 60 Hz, charging rate limited to 20 watts, no macro lens, wide notch

Apple iPhone 14 Plus Dual SIM 5G (6GB RAM, 128GB, Blue) - BRAND NEW review

There’s no dynamic refresh rate: it’s a 60Hz screen. Even so, in most usage, you’ll barely notice that it’s not as fast and smooth as its Pro sibling.

Apple iPhone 14 Plus (128GB, Blue) AU - Excellent review

Excellent battery life and a large display make the 14 Plus upgrade-worthy
Pros:
  • Excellent multiday battery life, Big, bright screen, Light despite its size
Cons:
  • Hard to use one-handed or fit in a pocket, Lacks latest features like a 120Hz screen, eSIM transition will be easy for most but painful for some

Apple iPhone 14 Plus Review: The Bigger Display Decision

If the iPhone 14 Plus has a challenge, then, it's that by intentionally adding extra separation between the Pro and non-Pro series this year, Apple has made it much easier to justify opting for the more comprehensive smartphones.
Pros:
  • More screen for less money, Solid camera performance, Excellent battery life
Cons:
  • iPhone 14 Pro adds a lot at a small price delta, eSIM may be frustrating, Still uses Lightning not USB-C

Apple iPhone 14 Plus review: awkwardly brilliant

Apple hasn’t used the Plus name since 2017, but it has resurrected it in 2022 with the iPhone 14 Plus. Just like before, the new model increases the screen size of the standard one, but keeps the majority of the other technical features in place. It fits in that awkward space between the cheaper iPhone 14 and the slightly more expensive, but superior Pro model. But is there any real reason to buy it? The iPhone 14 Plus is wider, taller, and heavier than the iPhone 14, and the only dimension that stays the same is the thickness at 7.8mm. Made from aluminum and glass, it’s a step down in luxury from the stainless steel and glass Pro models, but with this comes the advantage of low weight. At 203 grams, the iPhone 14 Plus can’t be called light, but it’s lighter than the iPhone 14 Pro and only a few grams heavier than the Samsung Galaxy S22+. My usual iPhone of choice is the iPhone 14 Pro, and I’ve been consistently surprised at how light the iPhone 14 Plus feels when I pick it up, despite...
Pros:
  • Large, vibrant, detailed screen
  • Two-day battery life
  • Easy to use software
  • Great everyday camera
Cons:
  • It's a big phone
  • 60Hz refresh rate

Apple iPhone 14 Plus review: The iPhone most people should buy

An anomaly it may be but the iPhone 14 Plus is an excellent option for those who want a big screen iPhone without forking out a lot of cash. The iPhone 14 Plus starts at Rs 89,900, which makes it a good Rs 40,000 cheaper than the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
