Apple iPad 8 (32GB, Space Grey) Australian Stock - Pristine review

Easily one of the more modest updates you’re likely to find in the Apple iPad range, the 2020 iPad is more or less a faster version of last year’s 10.2 inch iPad, which itself was already a pretty stellar package.
Pros:
  • Great screen, Faster processor than last year, Almost twice the performance of the old model, Supports Smart Keyboard Cover, Supports Apple Pencil, Still a nice design, Bigger charge pack (20W instead of 10W) and Type C Lightning cable, Less money and an even better value
Cons:
  • Not water resistant

Apple iPad 8 (32GB, Silver) Australian Stock - Pristine review

There will be some people who wanted Apple to do more with the cheap iPad this time, and I can’t say I disagree. Since it got such a noticeable redesign last year, the 2020 model was always going to be more... straightforward by comparison.

Apple iPad 8 (32GB, Gold) Australian Stock - Excellent review

The eighth-generation iPad for 2020 isn’t a radical upgrade from the previous few versions of Apple’s cheapest tablet. But the company has done enough with new chips and software to keep it head and shoulders above the competition at a price point of about £300.
Pros:
  • Pros: good performance, good battery life, good screen, iPadOS, plenty of apps, good speakers, long support, recycled aluminium.
Cons:
  • Cons: older design, no USB-C, fairly slow charging, no Fornite or cloud game streaming, no multi-user support, low storage on the starting model with no way to add more.

Apple iPad 8 (32GB, Gold) Australian Stock - Excellent review

iPad goes Bionic. The new iPad and the old iPad come with very similar specifications sheets. The 2020 model has a new SoC and a smaller carbon footprint.
Pros:
  • beautiful design, great battery life, high level of performance, support for the Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard, long-lived product line
Cons:
  • predecessor had a somewhat better display, only Bluetooth 4.2, screen-to-body ratio appears antiquated

Don't be fooled cellular does not mean you can make phone calls. According the 'Apple' people....no ipad can make phone calls despite having the app.The best you can do is skype and only if some one is willing to receive the skype

I like apple ipads I have had one for years. It's small and convenient for me easy to use. It is handy to have a cellular. It makes it convenient for traveling (when that happens) The best I could do was get a data subscription.

Apple iPad 8 (32GB, Gold) Australian Stock - Excellent review

This isn't a particularly ambitious upgrade, and the meagre 32GB of storage is disappointing. Still, the 8th generation iPad provides a big performance improvement over its predecessor.
Pros:
  • Much faster A12 Bionic processor, Bright, sharp 10.2-inch screen, All-day battery life, Competitive price
Cons:
  • 32GB of storage on base model, 720p FaceTime camera, Still uses 802.11ac wi-fi and Bluetooth 4.2, No USB-C
