Apple iPad 2 review

So what do we take away from this review? The iPad has a lot of positive features (screen brightness, viewing angles, audio quality, fast processor) but it also has a lot of flaws (low quality cameras, battery, software, button angles, slippery back, fingerprints, glare, and iTunes).

Apple iPad 2 review

The original Apple iPad sold close to 15 million units in 2010 and single-handedly created an entire new brand of consumer electronics. This forced many competitors to play catch up and only Samsung came close as a true alternative with their Samsung Galaxy Tab.

Apple iPad 2 review

To further overuse a ridiculously overused phrase, the new iPad is evolutionary rather than revolutionary. The internals get what should be a nice bump, but the screen size and resolution remains the same, and we aren't going to see any major changes in the new tablet's interface or functionality.

Apple iPad 2 review

On March 2, 2011, Steve Jobs founder and CEO of Apple held a live press conference in San Francisco, California and announced the iPad 2. While Steve Jobs stated that 2010 was the year of the iPad, all indications point to 2011 being a huge year for the iPad 2.

Apple iPad 2 review

It’s thinner, lighter and more powerful than the first iPad, with better battery life to boot - but the cameras are a big let down

Apple iPad 2 review

With blatant additions, obscure tweaks and a lot that has remained unchanged, this year's model of the world's favorite tablet edges out the original.

Apple iPad 2 review

“The Apple iPad 2 right now is cheaper and easier to use, but not necessarily better endowed than competing tablets – but that doesn't matter.”

Dual core processor, 10-hour-plus battery life, Bright 9.7-inch IPS LCD screen, A third thinner than the original, Front and rear cameras

Highly reflective screen, Slippery, No expandable memory, Poor visibility outdoors, Poor still image quality

Apple iPad 2 review

The Apple iPhone 14 isn’t a huge upgrade on the iPhone 13, yet it still is a great phone with a top camera, good battery life and all the iOS benefits.

Clever safety features, Very good battery life, Reliable camera, Fun colours, You’ve got an ageing iPhone: If you’re on an iPhone 11 or older, then the changes here will make a notable difference.

Stuck on a 60Hz display, Minimal differences to the iPhone 13, You’ve got an iPhone 13: The changes from Apple’s previous phone aren’t enough to warrant an upgrade this year.

Apple iPad 2 review

The Apple iPhone 14 is no match for the just-released iPhone 14 Pro, but if you ignore that, it’s one of the most effective phones around.

Great cameras, front and back, Fast performance, Good battery life, Innovative safety features

Design too familiar, Some average features

Apple iPad 2 review

Apple's latest non-Pro iPhone is superb - it's just that it's strikingly similar to last year's effort.

Still an incredible smartphone, Brilliant battery life gets a bit better, Excellent camera system gets a bit better

Last year’s Pro hardware, Wireless charging slow by modern standards, No USB-C; it’s now well overdue
