Decent Sound. Incomplete Design.

This is a challenging review to make because these earphones sound great but the overall experience of using them, is average at best. The Yamaha TW-E3A Buds come with some good specifications on paper but the implementation has a significant amount of oversight on some pretty important design traits. Let's start with the good things about this set: - Bluetooth 5.0 -> good for signal maintenance over multiple codecs - SBC, AAC, Qualcomm aptX LL ->The choice of audio transmission codecs really helps with dealing with multiple devices. e.g. The Apple iPhone uses AAC (pretty strong signal, low-ish bitrate), Android devices can use SBC or aptX (defaults to SBC for better signal strength) - The drivers are tuned to be relatively sharp. The audio experience is quite pleasing (not quite Bose/Sennheiser level but it is good) Now, for the not-so-great things about the product: - The case size is not functionally sized. (I'll get back to this) - The contact points in the charging

Yamaha TW-E3B Review

Yamaha's $99.95 TW-E3B true wireless earphones may not look or feel premium, but they sound great, with surprisingly accurate audio for the price. They also support the AptX Bluetooth codec, which adds to their appeal for audiophiles on a budget. If you prefer a bit of boosting in your bass, there are plenty of other sub-$100 models worth considering, many of which offer more in the way of features. Anker's $79.99 Soundcore Life P3 earphones, for instance, offer active noise cancellation and a higher-quality build for $20 less, making them our Editors' Choice in this price range. An Uninspiring Design Available in black or multiple pastel shades (including lavender, light blue, light green, or pink), the TW-E3B earphones sport a slippery plastic design that feels a bit cheap. They stay in place quite well even if you don't fully insert them, but it’s important to twist the earpieces until each is in the same orientation to ensure the best sonic performance. They ship with four pai...

The no-frills Yamaha TW-E3B true wireless earphones skimp on extra features, but deliver a relatively accurate sound signature that will appeal to audiophiles on a budget.

Excellent audio performance with accurate bass and ideal clarity; AptX support

Weak mic signal; App doesn't offer many features; Design feels cheap
